Beautiful Katamari

The new Beautiful Katamari has been announced, and fans of the bizarre yet cute sticky-ball-rollin' Prince were certainly happy. With the addition of online multiplayer, the entertainment possibilities could be limitless, especially if they expand on the gameplay as they did with We Love Katamari!. Things seem to be moving right along over at Namco Bandai, as they've unveiled the official Beautiful Katamari website.

There are no videos as of yet, but you don't have to be able to speak Japanese to check out the pics. Sure, they're a little underwhelming (especially for next-gen hardware), but then again, the visuals were never a focal point of the addictive series. In fact, fans might not even be all that disappointed if this sequel looked just like past installments. Hey, that's what great gameplay does for ya.

Beautiful Katamari is expected to release some time this year for the PS3 and Xbox 360...sooner rather than later, we hope.
