Dead Island Game Of The Year Edition Lands On June 26
Okay, so Dead Island 2 isn't in the works yet. Doesn't mean you can't get your sandbox zombie fix this year.
Deep Silver has announced the Game of the Year Edition for the award-winning Dead Island, which released last September. Earning Gamecritics.com's 2011 Game of the Year and numerous Editors' Choice Awards, the title became the best-selling game worldwide upon its launch. It ended up shipping over 3 million copies and so now, the gory survival adventure gets a sweet re-release.
The GotY Edition will feature the Bloodbath Arena Mode, the Ryder White Campaign single-player story arc, and the blueprint for the "highly coveted Ripper weapon mod." Said Deep Silver's Aubrey Norris "Manager of Suspicious Radio Voices, while wearing a smooth velvet smoking jacket and pouring a glass of some questionable-looking red substance on the rocks:"
"There’s nothing more satisfying than gracefully tossing a normal, inconspicuous looking kitchen knife at some foul creature and bringing complete decapitation to their world. By unleashing – I mean, releasing- the Dead Island Game of the Year Edition upon the world, we feel that we are doing our part to empower the world with the ultimate survival tutorial. At Deep Silver, ladies and gentlemen, We. Make. SURVIVORS. *thunderclap*"
Deep Silver's press releases vie with Atlus' for The Most Entertaining Reading Award from journalists. Anyway, with all that new content (Bloodbath Arena offers four arenas and new challenges that can be played solo or in co-op mode) and an attractive $29.99 price tag, you should definitely consider a purchase when the Dead Island Game of the Year Edition launches on June 26.

And dead island? C'mon, it was entertaining and definitely showed promise but it was no game of the year. Not next to Arkham City, UC3, Skyrim...I could go on.

hell, might as well give rouge warrior GOTY!
one of the biggest disappointments of the year especially judging by that target trailer they released.
its a shame they really could of made a awesome story with this, but they just did not bother!
not to mention the tech demos techland had been showing for years demonstrating their multiple skin layer technology, something that never made it into the game.
only award dead island should be getting is least promises delivered!
187000 features promised for the game, 2 delivered!
was as fun as watching paint dry too!
every god dam mission is a fetch quest, how the hell does that define GOTY!?

Dead Island
