XCOM: Enemy Unknown Earns Launch Date, New Trailer
Some of you may remember the name "XCOM" with great fondness. And if so, we've got good news.
2K Games has announced that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in North America on October 9, and on October 13 internationally.
If you pre-order the anticipated title, you'll receive the Elite Soldier Pack DLC, which boasts a character inspired by the original XCOM. There's also a soldier deco pack so players can tweak and fiddle "with complete color customization," and 2K handed over this great new trailer, too. This one could be a sleeper smash hit for 2012, provided it turns out well...
Maybe this is part of the reason why Bioshock Infinite was pushed back. It was originally slated for October 16, which could've been too close to the new XCOM. Well, whatever the reason, XCOM will return in October, and we're satisfied with that.

yet another remake as opposed to original content / new ideas...
i was a HUGE fan of the original PC based game (shows my age), so much that it was almost perfect back then. i wonder whether this will be a respectable remake of it. so far, i'm not too excited (apart from the base creation being vertical now, and seeing the soldiers interacting...)
