Kojima And Co. Confirms "Enders Project"

For action fans who loved the first two titles, this comes as fantastic news.

For quite some time now, rumors have persisted concerning a possible third Zone of the Enders installment and in fact, boss man Hideo Kojima had hinted at such a project several times.

But we had few details and a disappointing update that said a new ZoE was on the "back burner" didn't help, so many have shifted their hopes to a new Metal Gear Solid and Kojima's secret "Ogre Project." That being said, ZoE is back: As reported by Kotaku, Kojima Productions has confirmed development on a fresh Zone of the Enders title, which for now is simply called the "Enders Project." You can catch a screenshot of the announcement here.

If you're unfamiliar, the first two ZoE titles garnered widespread critical acclaim, and action aficionados everywhere appreciated the super fast-paced, mid-air combat. If all you see is mechs, and you're thinking of a slow, clunky third-person shooter, you need to fix that image; ZoE is all about in-flight combat, and it's anything but slow. Can't wait to hear more about the new one!

-dies- cant wait!! -cums- lol.. the graphics in that game were spectacular on PS2 and the action was lightning fast.. especially for a robot game.. it was like DBZ with mechs (especially when you could zero shift).. if they could do that with the PS2.. Im DYING to see what they can do to ZOE on the PS3 -drools-

This game will rank very high on my priority list. I can't wait to get this. I've had the HD collection on pre-order for a while. Hopefully ZOE3 will be ready soon after the collection releases.

Makes me happy to see that there will be a new ZOE installment coming. I remember buying the original ZOE just for the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo that came with it. I was pleasantly surprised by it and it became one of my favorite games of the generation. I hope that the HD collection comes out relatively soon.

Square might not be able to do it but Kojima never seems to let anyone down.

With the HD Collection on the way, this was almost inevitable. I'll have to get the former to gauge my real interest, but it's on my list.
