Insomniac Reveals Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault

Insomniac CEO Ted Price has lifted the lid on a new installment in the uber-popular and critically acclaimed franchise: Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault.
If you weren't aware, 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of one of PlayStation's most respect franchises. As part of that celebration, we'll get the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection later this year, but now there's another reason to stand up and applaud: The latest adventure facing the dynamic duo will land on the PlayStation Store; they're calling it a "fun-sized" quest. Here's more from the press release:
"This concentrated blast of adventure blends the series’ classic comedy, camera, and controls with an innovative new way to play. Assemble your arsenal, drop into an intergalactic conflict, and get trigger happy – solo or online and split screen with friends. You can dive into the full experience later this year, but we’ll be revealing more info as the months go on."

Ratchet and clank series were my favorite games on ps2 and although the ps3 games are good (especially Crack in Time) they aren't quite the same.
Quest for Booty was decent but I felt like it wasn't as "in depth" as the other games were.
But still I'm exited for this and that Insomniac is still working with Sony and ps3 exclusive titles

I'M IN!!!
Sounds like a fun and cheap game to play against bots, online or with friends. From what they suggest, I don't think it's a story-driven iteration like A Crack In Time, but an arcade shooter with hilarious cutscenes to narrate the arena action!
For a $20 price tag, I'd definitely be up for that!

whether that makes it out anywhere else is another story.
but that said whats the point of putting the work into making it compatible wit ps3 than only releasing it in JP?

I don't know about any other regions.
But I am not very hot about this. I really don't think we need yearly ratchet and clank games.
I want insomniac to make us be hyped as hell for their games, but their production styles prevent most from caring.

To be honest I'm far more excited about the HD retreads than this new title, although it does sound interesting.

Anyway. I get the feeling that this will be included in the NA version of the R&C Collection, considering that it is coming later and has already been confirmed to include a "bonus". I mean, EU is getting it as a standalone retail release. Let's just hope that "fun-size" doesn't mean that it ends up as hollow and somewhat disappointing as Quest for Booty. Didn't like that game at all.

my favourite series of all time!

I agree that it is a FANTASTIC series, but if it is no longer profitable, then the best choice is to either kill it, or regain their consumers with portable offerings before releasing a new full-fledged title. Also, experimentation works better on a smaller scale, and that is what Q4B, A41 and seeming this are: Experiments.

ACIT actually sold really well, if they released another game like that now it would sell allot better too!
im sick of seeing insomniac sh*t on one of my favourite franchises with this crappy mini game crap!
if they so badly want some sales they should release the HD collection on the vita, that would sell like hotcakes!

Ugh, damn! This is an overload of awesome. I love Ratchet & Clank but now I have FIVE games to play when they arrive this Fall! Can't wait (for my wallet and free time to dry up).
