Tomb Raider: Epic New Trailer Confirms March 5, 2013 Date
We recently learned that the hotly anticipated Tomb Raider reboot wouldn't make it this year. Disappointing.
But as a consolation prize, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have given us an epic new trailer and a fresh, solidified date: March 5, 2013. That's when Lara's new adventure will drop for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
We haven't seen Lara since 2010's Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and that was a little different, as it was a downloadable-only, top-down, dungeon-crawling experience. This reboot is really the first full-fledged 3D adventure since Tomb Raider: Underworld in 2008, so fans of the franchise have had a long wait. It's time to drop Lara back into the fray! Check out the new video:
It reminds me a lot of Uncharted, only with more stealth elements and almost a survival/horror vibe (only without the freaky monsters) in some cases. Either way, it looks great and I hope it successfully rejuvenates the series. Tomb Raider deserves a rebirth!

After watching this all I could think was, the next Uncharted better bring its A game.
I love Uncharted don't get me wrong, but the variety of gameplay I saw in this trailer was awesome. Hunting a dear, stealth missions with your hands tied man it was just really cool and gritty. Gameplay variety was one thing I thought Uncharted sort of lacked, and it was more about the characters and story.
I definitely have my eyes on this one now, hopefully it can deliver.

This looked great, and they also are using a more colorful palette, I like it :)
The Last of Us, AC3 and Tomb Raider will be my can't miss titles in the future.

**And to the comment about it looking like Uncharted...you have it backwards, Tomb Raider was first in the 3rd person adventure game so your comment should read, "Man, Uncharted looks like Tomb Raider."

No offense to Tom Raider fans (I am one), but it was definitely in need of a reboot. Judging from this trailer there is potential to be up there when being compare to Uncharted. So in my mind it did have some of that Uncharted flair, but I don't think we'd ever say "Uncharted has that Tomb Raider quality". Wed probably say "Tomb Raider has Uncharted qualities".

I've been pretty upset with games that have Square Enix name on them this generation, but if we can expect more of this...Bravo!
Let's just hope that there's actually substance to the game though and not just a fancy trailer but I am definitely looking forward to this one.

Anyway, as good as it was, I felt as though this trailer mayyyybe revealed too much; I feel as though I've caught a glimpse of half the cinematics already. It's definatly got me intrigued now though, and I hope this is finally the game that gives Uncharted some direct competition!

I would hope that they only showed a tiny fraction of things and didn't spoil anything major. Also I think she wasn't using a gun because it seems like an Origin story, she might have never used one before. There seems to be some sort of struggle going on when she picks up the gun so yeah I don't know. Maybe something happened in her past who knows.
All I know is that if this delivers the next Uncharted needs to step up its game.

All the games are looking and playing much better on a new PC rig these days, it's time to catch up.

Like the MP in Mass Effect. I gave it a fair chance as I *love* the franchise, but nope, it annoyed me that it was even there in the main menu. It doesn't belong to these kind of games. Doesn't fit into the universe created in the single player campaign.
Leave MP gaming up to the pros I say, the games designed for it from the ground up. COD, Battlefield, Crysis, now *that's* multiplayer bonanza. That's true badass multiplayer.

But why did they show this now *before* E3? This would have caused major headlines during E3!
... Unless, you know... Unless all the spotlight is expected to be stolen by... THE NEW XBOX AND PS CONSOLES. (Yes I keep my fingers crossed!)

But, my god....this trailer looks amazing!!!
Watching it, my eyes never left the screen once. I truly did empathise with Lara in this trailer, just because everything seemed so realistic, in terms of her reactions to what was happening (even seemingly mundane things like when she apologised before killing the deer).
In this, her character seems more vulnerable, and thus more relatable to me.
Will definitely be picking this up...I'm almost tempted to pre-order....and the only game I've done that for in my whole gaming life is Skyward Sword O_o"
