Tomba! Explores Again On PSN

It's another PS1 classic that deserves our attention.

If you're not familiar, Tomba! was a great platformer on the original PlayStation; it was created by legendary producer Tokuro Fujiwara (Mega Man, Ghouls 'n Ghosts) and remains one of the most beloved titles in the PS1's library.

And now it's coming to the PSN on June 19 for the ultra-agreeable price of $9.99. I say "ultra-agreeable" because the eBay prices have been out of control for years. Anyway, MonkeyPaw Games will deliver this mix of sprite characters and polygon backgrounds, an adventure in which "no quest is ever the same." Basically, it's adventure/RPG elements fused with puzzle-solving, exploration mechanics, and platforming...and it evokes fond memories.

Yeah, a caveman with pink hair. What of it?

never played tomba.. i did own play and beat tomba 2 however

Awesome! I loved that game. It'd be cool if he ended up in the playstation all star battle royal. I think he'd fit in great.

Holy crap!! I have been waiting for this announcement for years! I played a demo of this game on a demo disk included in OPM years ago, sat on picking it up, and now it is super expensive to get a copy.

Just, WOW!

sweet i loved this game back in the day and have been wanting to play it again. i miss some of these old school games. i cant wait til they have all of the old ps1 games on the psn. i really hope this is playable from the vita soon. tomba would be a perfect vita game to play.

I always remember the demo for this game being very genuous giving up to 30 mins - 1 hour's worth of playtime. I always loved the game but the rarity for this title is insane in the UK. I would have bought this if it was $6, as I already have $4 left over and was hoping to get a $20 card to get this along with Chrono Cross ($10) & Legend of Dragoon ($6!), so Tombi being at $10 is a bit of a let down in my plan. I'm sure I'll get around to it someday though.

I have been waiting for this since I met my wife. She isn't a big gamer, but apparently her favorite game was Tomba. This is great news!

safe to say we just dont do platformers like we use to!
i wish gex would be added next, that was by far one of the best games to ever hit the console!
wish just add water would hurry up and give us an update on the oddworld abes oddessy and oddworld abes exedous HD ports!
