Dead Island: Riptide Is A New Game And Not A Remake
When Deep Silver unveiled Dead Island: Riptide, fans had lots of questions.
The problem was that we didn't really get any specific details, besides the statement that this would be a "new entry" in the franchise. So was it a remake or a sequel? What's the deal?
Well, according to Deep Silver PR mistress Aubrey Norris (as cited by Ripten), Riptide is most certainly not a remake of the original Dead Island. As her simple Twitter clarification read: "It is a new game. Not a remake."
Part of the reason some believed it to be a remake is because some online retailers listed the game with a $49.99 price point, $10 cheaper than normal. But Norris elaborated by saying:
"That’s not a placeholder :) that’s the real price! It’s the end of a console cycle- we think this price makes a lot more sense given that :)"
Okay, cool. Maybe other publishers will do the same...? At any rate, now we know Dead Island: Riptide is something entirely new, so we can renew our love affair with slaying hordes of zombies. ...wait, did we really have to renew it? It's always there for gamers, right?

2 things, add in proper missions, IE not EVERYTHING being a fetch quest!
and please for the love of god remove the weapon breaking system, its just so stupid!
whole point of this game is to have fun ripping zombies to shreds!
kinda hard to do that when your worried about breaking your favourite weapon.
they really need to sit down and have a look at dead islands original trailer, you know the infamous teaser trailer that made it look like a drama title.
thats what this really should be!
id love to see a story driven zombie game!
id be cool to have the emotion and story of a david cage game mixed in with the open world, and tech of dead island.
dead island could of been such a awesome game only if they had a bit more of a story to it, removed the stupid weapon breaking system, and actually had proper missions instead of everything being one long fetch quest!
