Sledgehammer's Call Of Duty Project Back On The Radar
Canceled, not canceled, in flux, in development, postponed, shelved...all such terms have been associated with Sledgehammer's latest project.
The developer worked with Infinity Ward on last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but have long been rumored to be working on a standalone CoD entry themselves. Well, beyond "rumored," actually; it was officially confirmed at one point. And it was supposed to be third-person, too.
Then it sort of fell of the radar...until today. It has popped back into news circulation, as Videogamer spotted a job listing on the company's website. The job is no longer available but it was for a Senior FX Artist to help "create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game." It may not be a next-gen project, either, as the job listing asked for someone with experience of "current generation hardware."
We're just not sure if this is still the "third-person action game" described last year, or just a return to the standard first-person formula. But hey, another Call of Duty...aren't you ecstatic?

Personally, I would like to see more third person shooters on the market, as I do find I seem to enjoy those more then fps's. But again, that's just me....

As soon as I see COD on the title, I already know that it won't be a day on purchase for me...A decision I have yet to regret...

sigh.
when did originality and uniqueness become illegal in this industry?
its so depressing how many companies have jumped on the me too bandwagon!
this industries gone from ok what is not well catered for?
what is one genre that people really want, and not many games showcase?
to ok what is so over saturated theres literally one game for it for every day of the year!
we get 1234567456432456 shooters and 65434567653 RPGs for every platformer, horror, survival, puzzle and other type of genre this gen!
and i fear next gen will be even worse..........
