DOOM 3 BFG Edition Dated, Priced

Most shooters these days don't try to freak you out on a consistent basis. But don't worry...DOOM is all about nasty things that go bump in the night.

We've got a release date for the DOOM 3 BFG Edition, which is a remastered version for both the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It'll launch on October 16 in North America and three days later in Europe; it'll hold a price tag of $29.99.

Boasting seven new levels of content, the Resurrection of Evil add-on pack, and "The Lost Mission," this special revamp supports 3D, 5.1 surround sound, Trophies/Achievements, improved rendering and lighting, a new checkpoint system, and fine-tuned controls. Plus, we'll get a new armor-mounted flashlight, which will let players light up the darkness while still having access to a weapon. Oh, and don't forget that both DOOM and DOOM 2 will be included in the package, so this is the ultimate DOOM experience, and for only thirty bucks!

If you've never played the third entry, this really is a no-brainer. I still remember thinking, "Hey, this is a pretty great combination of survival/horror and FPS." Yeah, it's more shooter than survival, but the horror part is definitely there.

Am I the only one that remembers Final Doom? Where is that in the package? That was my favorite out of the "3D" ones.

I really enjoyed Doom 3 for Xbox (still have it), the critics of it were off base. The fact that it comes with the other dooms as well sells it for me. I can't play them on PC and I can't seem to save properly on the Dreamcast fan port so it would be sweet.

Dial-up deathmatches and co-op were wild back in the day. I used to make my own levels and everything.

This was one of the only games I was jealous of on the Xbox and I was as shocked as a fresh fucked fox after a forest fire that they didn't really do anything with it what with the shooter bubble and everything. Can't wait for this.

sweet!
sad we have to look back to already released games to get our horror fix lately!
so cant wait till this comes out, i still remember waking up at 3 in the morning and playing it with friends with the sound off because we were too scared.
actually bought this off steam a while ago wanted to run some of those amazing texture mods with it but they dont work too well sadly.
bogs the game down like running crysis on a P3!
