The Hard-Hitting Babes Of The LFL Are Coming...To A Game

Uh...were you aware of the Lingerie Football League? I sure wasn't. ...don't think I've ever seen it on ESPN.

And yet, my ignorance isn't stopping WWE 13 developer Yuke's from targeting the "gaming world's target market" with a game based on the LFL. This shouldn't come as a huge shock, though, as Yuke's has already delivered a game featuring scantily clad babes. Remember Rumble Roses?

The developer announced they acquired the rights to the league (which has apparently been in existence since 2009) and now they're cranking on the interactive effort, which oughta be...interesting. Said Yuke's CEO Yukinori Taniguichi:

"We at Yuke's feel that there is incredible momentum building behind the LFL and that the sport is perfectly positioned to become the next big franchise in the gaming world."

Taniguchi added that the fan base of the LFL is about 60% male between the ages of 18 and 34, and that "perfectly aligns with the gaming world’s target market." If you didn't know, the LFL uses American football rules modified for a 50-yard field and oh yeah, the players wear lingerie. Well, uniforms that look a lot like lingerie, at any rate.

So who's up for it?

How could they have kept this a secret for so long? Not the video game, the league. Does any channel air these games? Poor sportsmanship would be a plus in a real game of this caliber.

60% of what number exactly? How many people are actually watching this, or even know of its existence?

But I'd like to see someone try and buy this game without getting some interesting looks. Could you imagine the look on the Game Stop employee's face when you ask about the pre-order for this game? Or even walk up to the counter with it in your hands, cleverly hiding it under another game, and hand it to them? I bet most would just order it online. That way they can't see the perv that just purchased a game about scantily clad female athletes.

I meant how many people are in the fan base. 20 people? 60? 100? I want to know how many people watch this and find out 60% of that number.

All I know is that they made enough money selling this as a pay-per-view event during halftime of the superbowl. They when from that and made it a league. So someones watching it. I also dont think their original idea was for a league.

never heard of this and while i have no problem with chicks wearing very little cloths it just sounds stupid. of course it would get made into a game.

interestingly my gf knew about this while i had no idea.

I've known about the league since its inception, never cared to watch though because it isn't good football and girls playing football isn't titillating to me whatever their dress.

I remember Rumble Roses, I was a bit disappointed that at the typical stilted wrestling mechanics though.

I never knew about this, I had a feeling something like this was around.

I also remember Rumble Roses, I played the demo for it, I just don't remember from which game.

first WWE, and now this!
sigh, its almost like they WANT to go bankrupt!
they will release this, but they wont release devils third, a game in such a popular loved but deserted franchise!
and a game made by one of the industries most respected men!

Before It was a league, it was a time event once a year. You also had to buy it on pay-per,view to watch it. At halftime buring the Superbowl. They made so much money the 1st two years this way. Thats how it became a league. I've seen prices for game and man are they expensive.

I have vaguely heard of the league. I didn't know where or when it's broadcast, but have heard of it. I don't think I would actually watch too much of it, but a game might be kinda quirky fun - like Rumble Roses or DOA. I wouldn't pay $60 for it, but maybe $10.
