Thatgamecompany's Tremendous Trio Bundled On Blu-Ray

If you consider yourself a collector of quality video games, you are going to buy this. Oh yes...you are.

Thatgamecompany has been responsible for three of the most innovative and critically acclaimed titles this generation. After various retailers spilled the beans, the developer confirmed that a disc-based Journey Collector's Edition is coming to the PlayStation 3 in August.

And it's not just about the team's latest; no, this awesome set will include all three of Thatgamecompany's impressive PS3 achievements: flOw, Flower, and Journey. Here's the Tweet that sorta uncereoniously confirmed it:

"Yes, the ‪#JourneyPS3‬Collector's Edition is a thing, and it includes‪#flOwPS3‬ and ‪#FlowerPS3‬, but we can't say anything more."

GameFly and Play-Asia leaked the information ahead of time but it's nice to have the clarification, even if they can't give us specific details just yet. All I need to know is that three games that deserve a spot in a physical collection are going to be available on a disc, and to round out a great PS3 library, one must have this.

Besides, don't forget that the developer in question is no longer exclusive to Sony, so you should consider this the Thatgamecompany swan song for PS3 exclusivity. Pay appropriate homage!

I too own all 3, but anyone who doesn't own 2 or all of the titles should consider picking this up.

I've got all three as well but that's not stopping me from getting this.

As far as I'm concerned, digital files on a screen don't constitute a library, so I basically feel as if I don't actually HAVE the games in question.

But I'm gonna. :)

I only own 2 out of the 3 so I'd be interested in getting this. I don't really agree with your logic though concerning a library. I know someone that has a DVD collection of about 100 movies. I have a hard drive with thousands of movies. I'd rather have a certain amount of movies than a smaller amount including the boxes.

But to each their own I guess.

I only have flower, flow demo didn't really get me to bite (didn't realize it was free on PS-plus but I may not have played it anyway). Still have to get Journey but will definitely wait and see on the pricing of this!

I'm surprised Sony doesn't do more of these Blu-Ray compilations.

Anyway, this trio is probably the best three DLC games anybody could package together. Flower and Journey are two critically acclaimed games and flOw is very good, as well.

PixelJunk should look into packaging their releases on a Blu-Ray, too.

... Maybe they'll even include some bonus levels for Flow and Flower on the disc? Oh man that'd be SO sweet.

Come on Thatgamecompany, I need that tiny little extra push to buy your games one more time. I *so* want to. Just that sweet little extra something, please?

Never finished it? Wow... I thought it was way too short!

I think Flow was great, but it's very, very chill. It's no challenge, it's just... Floating around. It's a good idea to not be sober when playing though. Take a chill pill. ;)

Great audio too btw.

You're just floating around and expanding...that's pretty much what I got from it. I guess Beam is right, do a few lines before you try it out. I got the game free for being a Plus member and it just wasn't for me.

I think this is a great idea. However, like so many others, I've already purchased all three and doubt I'll buy the physical copy when I could put those hard earned dollars towards a game I haven't played yet.

I will gladly re-buy PS2 games that have been remixed in HD for the PS3. But I can't justify dipping into my already tight budget to buy a second copy of a game I already own.

I think they'd have to add something special, something unique to the physical release to compel me to buy it.

This is a great idea. I didn't get any of these titles. Depending on the cost, however, I may wait for a price drop. $25-$30 seems more then fair, anything more and I'll be waiting.

I picked up flow for my PS Vita... Very chilled out music and swimming about like a tadpole.

Now if I could get Journey for the Vita that would be excellent.

finally!
so many games dont get anywhere near enough attention simply because people dont have access to online stores, or dont consider DL games worth the money.
if i had a nickel for every time i heard someone say why spend 20 bucks on a PSN game when i can get a full fledged ps3 game for the same price?
got a point, $ony REALLY needs to give their games price drops!
so this will hopefully get more people to give the games a try.
wish this would happen allot more often, so many DL only games i wanna try but have not simply because i dont have the download usage.

Yeah, awesome news! I tend to ignore digital-only released games. I want MOAR physical copies. Any collectors out there know the feeling.
