Kojima Teases New Character, Mo-Cap Work For Mystery Title

For those of you aching to know what Hideo Kojima is currently working on (Zone of the Enders 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, or that mysterious Project Ogre), here's a little update.

And granted, it is "little" but at least it's something; it shows that Kojima is indeed knee-deep in a project that...well, includes a car crash. If you check out a series of recent Tweets summarized at an unofficial MGS fan website, you'll see that Kojima and his team are involved in some motion capture (as indicated by the pictures). You'll also note the the master was "honored to witness the moment of a new character being born." Obviously, that doesn't tell us much about the game, but we're always interested in new faces created by this team, right?

As for Project Ogre, Kojima just recently tossed up this update on his Twitter page:

"Haven't had Project Ogre lunch mtg for a while."

It's accompanied by a picture of...um...something. It's food, I know that. It probably doesn't have anything to do with the secret title, either. But at any rate, at the very, very least, we know Kojima is working on something. And that's enough for now.

Kojima's twitter is, so... KOJIMA. He is constantly posting the weirdest lunch photos, random movie posters, etc. He's a very unique individual :)

Yeah, seems he's always talking about what food's on his plate more than anything else.

I look forward to the day when we no longer need motion capture in order to make thing look natural, but got computing power enough for the engine to create natural movement and expressions by itself. Just imagine the possibilities...

I look forward to a reveal of at least one of his projects at TGS. Is that realistic?

If it was Sony exclusive then TGS might work but if it's also on the 360 then I would lean towards an E3 reveal for maximum impact here in NA for 360 crowd. Maybe it gets shown behind closed doors at TGS and later gets a full blown reveal at E3? I really don't know if it's realistic to hope for TGS reveal.

Does anybody know if Kojima has ever done a TGS reveal for his games during this gen or the previous one? I distinctly remember the huge reaction MGS2 got at E3(Sony fans actually breaking down into tears of joy on the show floor) but I have no idea if that footage had been shown in Japan prior to E3. Also is this a multiplat FOX engine based game? I'm pretty sure the engine is complete but have no idea what Kojima and Konami are developing on the multiplat Fox engine. Project ogre seems like a reasonable guess.

So to answer your question Jimmy. Multiplat title equals E3 reveal. Sony exclusive could equal TGS reveal. That's little more than a guess on my part however. Very little is known about project ogre obviously.

Valid points. History would tell us it would be a Sony exclusive (at least initially), so I'm hoping for one of these projects to get revealed. All I want from the TGS is The Last Guardian release date (or at LEAST something that shows me its still on its way) and/or a Kojima reveal. Either or. Both would be fantastic but unrealistic. Neither = one sad Jimmy.

Since we have so little to base this off of I like to use what he eats for lunch as an indicator. When he eats at Burger King I worry that we're going to get a fast paced western style game, but then he has a normal Japanese style ration and my hope is restored.

As crazy as it drives me that he won't give any coherent information about Ogre I think that's a good thing. It could be a long time and early announcements rarely pay off.

:(
why does he have to constantly tease us!?
putting the ball of yarn just out of the sleeping kitties reach.
eating the ice cream outside of the kids fat camp!
its just cruel!

eh, whatever he releases next i hope its something new and unique!
a part of me wants ZOE3, but i dunno its been so long since we had a truly unique never seen experience so i kinda rather that.
its a shame in a industry driven by imagination we have become so routine, so predictable!
