Namco Boss Harada Fires Back At Demanding Tekken Fans

One veteran developer is done with avid Tekken fans constantly asking for original voice actors and audio samples from the franchise's 18-year history to be included in the upcoming and anticipated Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
That developer is Namco Bandai head man Katsuhiro Harada, who was finally forced to speak out, explaining why it's illogical and unreasonable to use the audio from the original PlayStation productions. Obviously, his tolerance level is a little strained:
"I have something I want to say to the people who spam me with requests to 'switch back (or bring back) to the voice actors used previously... I believe that, before whining and complaining about everything, you need practice at taking a step back and analyzing things objectively. And also at being an adult.
The Tekken series has continued for 17 years. The development environment, as well as the environment in which you all play games, has changed. There are so many characters, and we can't keep using the same voice actors every time, for a variety of reasons."
Harada did say that TTT2 fighters that "comply with some requests" will be revealed, but he won't be dealing with those who continue to be hostile and demanding. In fact, some of that attitude must've rubbed off on the boss man, who finishes his lengthy blog post as follows:
"I can't continue to engage the negative ones that, without knowing what you are talking about, or even thinking about what you are saying, blindly repeat 'bring back, bring back, bring back…' After this lengthy explanation, I will be quite surprised if there are still people who still don't get it. Thanks for understanding or not understanding. Whatever."
Not being a huge Tekken fan myself, I refrain from comment. But unreasonable and attitude-laden gamer complaints do seem to be an ongoing trend in this generation...either the immaturity level is rising or the immature few are really making the rest of us look bad.

When voice over work is an issue for a fighting game,you know the fans are getting way too carried away. TTT2 as of right now could be the best Tekken since Tekken 3. It's got all the fan fave characters, the tag team mechanic which was much loved & full CG movies for all characters. That has gotta be alot of CG movies right there. All this needs now is a solid customization set & this game will be complete imo.

No, I really do have great respect for him for this. Fans should not have the right to bully developers over the internet like they have been this gen. The internet game them and they have abused it. Of course that does not stand for every gamer nor anyone on here from what I have seen, but let's be honest you look at the boards on IGN, it's easy to see why people look down on the gaming community.

as ubisoft said the guys a old man now you cant have him leaping across the mo-cap studio!
i couldent care less what my characters sound like, as long as they have the same personality and feel like the characters i could not care less!
like the backlash when sucker punch revealed coles new look.

i could understand if they changed the personality and characteristics of the character, but the look and sound jesus f*cking christ get a life!
drives me nuts how people cry over spilt milk these days!

I meet people who say they'll refuse to buy a game because the original voice actors aren't present or if it's a remake because they fixed translation errors.
Just make me a good game is all I ask. By the way...Soul Calibur 5 is a perfect example of how NOT to make a game for consoles. That story mode was terrible. And I will stand by that until it's fixed. Though I won't hold my breath.

I find it hilarious that there are people complaining about the voice work to the point that the developer of the game had to release a statement laced with "FFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!". It's a fighting game, big deal!
