Crystal Dynamics Is "Looking To The Future" With Lara Croft
The hotly anticipated Tomb Raider reboot won't be out until March of next year, but Crystal Dynamics is already hinting at a sequel. Cool, more Lara!
Global brand director Karl Stewart told Videogamer that although we're still nine months away from the return of Lara Croft, he has to be careful because he knows "exactly where she's going."
"You have to look at the future, you have to look at where... It's not just one game. At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She's going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we're going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That's the goal."
Stewart couldn't be prompted to say anything more because he said he'd get in hot water with the director of the next game. "What the fu** are you saying?" is what he's worried about hearing. ...kinda funny. Also, don't forget that Crystal Dynamics is supposed to be working on other projects, including a brand new IP for the next generation. Perhaps the other project is a Tomb Raider follow-up...? And might it be headed by ex-God of War director Cory Barlog?
Well, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. It's fun looking to the future but we're gonna need Lara Croft to wow us next year.

love the new look of tomb raider, definitely by far the best game at E3!
i wish crystal would go back after this and bring us another pandemonium!
a sequel to the original, than after that a 3D spin off!
that would be freaking sweet!
