EGM: Dead Or Alive Exclusive To PS3?
Those of you who subscribe to EGM probably already know, but for those who don't, we bring you the news of a Dead or Alive installment on the PS3. Sure, it hasn't been confirmed by Team Ninja or Tecmo, but the magazine reports that Team Ninja is actually creating a game "within the DoA universe" for the PS3. And the biggest news of all? They say it's going to be exclusive to the PS3.
Now, we all know Team Ninja shunned the PS2 and favored the Xbox last generation, but many interpreted that as something it wasn't: the team responsible for the likes of Ninja Gaiden simply liked the Xbox because of its greater graphical potential. But now, as the PS3 is purported to be the most powerful machine around, it's not surprising Team Ninja would jump ship to Sony. Heck, isn't Ninja Gaiden Sigma a hint? Of course, as far as we know, Ninja Gaiden 2 is still in the works as an exclusive Xbox 360 title, so...we're not sure what to believe at this point.
The report gives no details concerning the project, but it's obviously not a Gaiden title; we already know about that one. So what's the thinking, here? Dead or Alive 5? Dead or Alive Xtreme 3? Or a whole new title in the "DoA universe"? Guess we'll just have to wait and see. But with the recent reports of developers starting to favor the powerful Cell processor, coupled with this, it's starting to appear as if the PS3 is gathering a whole lot of steam. But perhaps it's too early to judge. Tecmo and Team Ninja will have to clarify this before too long, 'cuz the Internet is already a-buzz with discussion.
Keep checking back to see when we get more information concerning this mystery project supposedly exclusive to the PS3.
