Brothers In Arms: Furious 4 Not Ready, Keeps "Evolving"

We first saw it during Ubisoft's presentation at E3 2011 and it was supposed to be on store shelves in June.

But according to what Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford told CVG, Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 is actually nowhere near completion.

On the plus side, although we'll be lucky to see the new installment in 2013, Pitchford said the game has "evolved" and gamers will be "surprised by what they see" when it finally arrives. He couldn't elaborate further, adding that more changes will be necessary during the development process. So when might he be willing to talking about Furious 4? Perhaps sometime between the release of Borderlands 2 and Aliens: Colonial Marines; so basically, between September and February.

It'll be interesting to see what they do. Brothers in Arms has been a decent series; just not an excellent one.

Man Gearbox is doing this one too? They are wicked busy, no wonder they don't have the time to put Borderlands 2 on Vita.

I think the original Brothers in Arms was an amazing game. Earned in blood was decent and Hells highway actually had some good moments.

The first game had such amazing characters and there was so much emotion to the characters. I ended up really caring for my squad by the end of it.

I really don't like the direction they're taking it with this furious 4. I'm sure it will be fun but I was really looking forward to a proper sequel to hells highway. Oh well maybe thats still being cooked up somewhere.

Here's hoping that this 'evolution' is Gearbox scaling back from the beer'n'popcorn take on the BiA franchise that they originally envisaged, and realising that aping CoD doesn't = millions of copies sold ;). We can but hope :).

i hope they dont change the style and theme of the game!

yea their games were buggy as hell, but they were some of the funniest games out there!
mercenaries 2 was a laugh, and the saboteur was one of the most interesting different games weve seen this gen!
