Arenas To Grace NBA Live 08 Cover

Well, the Washington Wizards got swept away by the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, but in the video game world, one Wizards all-star gets the last laugh.

Gilbert Arenas will grace the cover of EA's NBA Live 08, according to GameSpot, and Washington fans are dearly hoping the Madden jinx doesn't apply to the Live series. Of course, Arenas has already experienced some bad luck with that sweep and a season-ending knee injury, but the rehab is going well, and the future is as bright as ever for high-scoring baller.

"It makes my whole rehabbing that much better now," wrote Arenas in his blog. "Because while rehabbing, all I'm thinking about is, 'I'm on the cover of Live.'"

Arenas may have even let the release date slip, when he said fans could expect to see his face on retail shelves on "October 1 or 2." The charismatic player will probably spur sales of the already-popular franchise, and provided the game is available for multiple platforms (and we're sure it will be), NBA Live 08 should sell plenty of copies. EA hasn't officially announced a list of platforms, but they did say it will be available on the PS3 and Wii for the first time. We also assume it will arrive on the Xbox 360 as well.

Whenever it becomes official, we'll let ya know.
