The First Rockstar Game On A Next-Gen Console Will Be...
Complete the sentence.
There's probably no chance it'll be Grand Theft Auto V...is there? Rockstar has just said we may not see a lot of new info for quite some time, and there are rumors that the new Xbox might be here before spring. Is it possible that the developers have hit a small delay because they're making GTAV for both the Xbox 720 and current consoles? Or even the PS4 and Xbox 720?
Maybe that's unlikely. But what about the possibility of a long-awaited Bully sequel? We saw rumors about that earlier this year as well, and it could be the third game in Rockstar's hopper behind GTAV and the Red Dead follow-up. Then again, speaking of the latter, there's every chance that the new Red Dead - possibly dubbed "Red Dead Rebellion" - could be one of the early titles available for next-gen hardware. Wouldn't that be a bad-ass launch title? Although it hasn't been officially confirmed just yet, everyone knows a new Western effort is coming, and we can't wait, either. It's gonna rule.
So what do you say? Rockstar is easily one of the best developers out there and in fact, we've made the recent argument that Rockstar might be the most consistent producer of top-notch games this generation. Hence, everyone should be awfully interested in this developer's plans for the future. Me, I'm holding my breath...

but in this nancy jones society of ours we all know that is never going to happen, so id have to go for agent.
yea i know its never going to happen too, but come on R* it looked so freaking awesome!
theres actually some leaked screenshots of it floating on the net, and it looks REALLY far in development!
makes me wonder that maybe, just maybe R* could show up at gamescom, or maybe later in the year at the VGAs and re reveal it!
maybe its not so dead after all...........
id much rather it release this gen, but if its next gen or nothing than im certainly not saying no!
realisticly though id either pick a red dead sequel or a LA Noire sequel.
id go for LA noire but this time make it a TRUE detective game!
you start off on beat dealing with petty theft crimes, trafic offences things like that.
than you quickly move up to detective, and at the start of every case you go to the crime scene, question everyone, gather evidence, than depending on what you found, and which witnesses you talked too it would reveal x number of suspects, the more people you talk to and the more evidence you find it will give you far more clues to the culprit.
and even eliminate a suspect or 2.
than its up to you to interrogate the suspects and determine who did it.
and if you get it wrong you loose points or something, not a complete total demotion that would be too hard and discouraging but there has to be consequences!
but for that to work they REALLY need to fix the problems with LA Noire!
it was so frustrating, sometimes characters would blink excessivley, roll there eyes, lick their lips, twitch, they would do so many suspicious things, but you had no evidence that they were lying so you had to pick doubt.
sometimes you would be right, sometimes the game would say nope they were telling the truth.
so how are you suppose to know whats what?
first suspect licks lips = lie, second suspect licks lips = truth.
how does that work?
sometimes when a perp rolls there eyes and blinks excessivley it indicates there lying, other times it means truth.
so how are you suppose to know which instance is which?
if there really going to go with the interrogation route, which i really hope they do it was so much fun!
they really need to set up a consistent line of indications so you can say ok last time she did that it meant lie so this time it will be the same.
you need to be able to pick out patterns and rely on them!
another problem with LA noire was the evidence sometimes was really silly.
sometimes a character would say oh i dont know that person, so you would say lie and show them the letter they wrote to that person.
and the game would say wrong they were telling the truth they dont know that person!
what the?
how can they not know that person if they wrote a letter to them?
than other times the game would make you use evidence that did not represent what happened.
i cant remember which case it was, or what the evidence was but i remember saying how does that prove their lying.
it was like a character would say no they have not been drinking than you would say lie and produce a pack of gum would be the correct answer.
how does that prove they were lying?
so IF they can work those inconsistencies out, make indications that are always reliable, and make evidence that was reliable, than i would totally love to see a new LA noire!
that would be my number 1 pick but since i cant see R* getting it right, i know they will stuff it up like they did LA Noire.
and because of that i have to go with a new red dead game!
redemption was such a kick a$$ awesome game, i would love to see a new game just like it!
this time though id love to see it take place in the industrial revolution!
theres so many mysterious inventions supposed to be made during that time, think of the fun they could have letting their imagination run wild creating some of them!
and make sure this time theres a hustling bustling city!
one thing i was disappointed about RDR, it really felt like you were in the middle of nowhere!
id be cool if they set up a city, a bar where you can drink and screw around, a sherifs office where you can hunt down bandits, a barbour shop, a weapon smith, a blackjack, ect, ect.
a real true city!
now that would be sweet!
id love to see them do a steampunk / cyber futuristic game like deus ex too.
one genre and style of game i really think would suit them!
one for the future list.......

Regardless from a business stand point their focus should be on Red Dead next. RDR was a huge success and the amount of people still playing and purchasing the game today is a testament to that. I'd be willing to say that the next Red Dead will be close or as successful as GTAV. It may ne'er surpass GTA in popularity because of thehistory... But the experience alone is far more enjoyable and I think that will translate into more success.
So focus on Red Dead please. I know that's what I want!

I will wait on the side lines and see what constitutes a PS4 hardware wise, and how quickly newer games take advantage of the new tech; that is, if we really do have a significant jump in tech this time around. I have a distinct feeling it may be a little different. I think Sony's approach will be taking into account a continually changing market place and distribution model.
Interesting - check out Kickstarter to see news on the crowd funded "open" Ouya Android-based console. Could be interesting to see how Ouya mixes things up for the gaming industry, by bringing back the idea of an "open" console that can be developed for by anyone.
Let's see what happens, hopefully it will be all good. In the meantime I have plenty of games to last me a few more years yet on the back catalogue for the PS3, so I am in no rush at the moment...
