Borderlands 2 Done, Developer Shifting Focus To DLC
Borderlands 2 is done. ...no, sorry, you can't go buy it yet.
But as the developer announced yesterday, the hotly anticipated sequel is complete and "headed to certification." The cool part is that all this is happening two full months before the projected North American release date of September 18.
That doesn't mean the team is headed off to warm locations for little umbrella drinks and half-clad chicks. Not yet, anyway. Gearbox is now moving on to focus on producing some downloadable content for the game; they're already working on the Mechromancer character class, which will arrive as free DLC 2-3 months after the title's launch. But wait...it'll only be free if you're a member of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, so you might want to sign up. Oh, it isn't hard; just pre-order the game and you're in.
Remember, they've said this one is basically long enough to be a hobby in and of itself. A proposed 58-hour campaign, multiple character classes, multiplayer goodness everywhere...yeah, sounds like a blast.

games dont normally go gold till 3-4 weeks before release, not 8!
they should bring forward the release a week, especially considering theres so many games coming out either on or close to its date.
one thing this industry seriously needs to fix next gen!
give every developer a free calendar, that way they can spread their games out better and we dont have 3 full months of nothing than the 4th month theres 5 games releasing per week!

O.k., I really don't understand how do you support DLC Content? It seems this one is "For Free" (of money, at least) but really think ALL DLC is just a piece of Crap. It could be better if they go and have a HUGH party as you stated and then, I don't know, maybe starting some new Engine for the Next Generation or a new game, perhaps..
