When's Dawnguard Coming To Skyrim On PS3? ...Well, Whenever
Yeah, that's par for the course.
The Dawnguard downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been available for the Xbox 360 for a month, but there's no word on when (or if) it'll come to the PS3 or PC.
And despite any rumors floating around out there, Bethesda VP Pete Hines Tweeted to remind everyone that nothing official has been reported. Hence, any dates you may see are just unfounded rumor and nothing more. Hines wrote:
"We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I'd tell you."
Hines did say to an annoyed fan that he was just clarifying, and merely because there's nothing official now doesn't mean there never will be. But it hasn't been enough to quell yet another uprising on the part of PS3 users everywhere, who have always felt like second-class citizens in Bethesda's world. Maybe the best way to counter that is to just say, "Yep, Dawnguard is coming even if don't know when."
...okay, maybe that isn't the best idea, either.

Kinect funtionality patched in Skyrim a few months before Dawnguard was released. Kinect is not needed at all to play Dawnguard so it's hardly a "kinect gimmick"

Oh yes, and Dawnguard and Bethesda being massive tools. Rabble rabble. Obviously Bethesda are just crap developers. Every game is full of bugs, they can't sync releases; I had to wait months before the "finished" game was even playable on PS3, and by then I was happy to buy it from a local used game shop to consciously not support such a weak-ass developer.

I will not buy Microsoft's next console at all, to reward their greed with the whooping $0 of my hard earned money that also equals the number of... bucks I give about Microsoft, or their timed exclusivity that they like to buy.
The simple truth, I I bought all 3 major consoles. I bought both the handhelds. I play PS3 most, then DS (Now 3DS), then Wii, then PSP, then XBOX 360... You heard that right... I use my PSP more than my PS3 stand... err... I mean 360. I plan to buy a Wii U (if only to get Nintendo's brand of gaming brought up to the CURRENT standards of tech), and I DEFINITELY plan to buy a PS4, provided they don't pull any dumb online only, persistence, DLC only garbage.
I currently have no plans to invest in any future Microsoft consoles. I just see no point in buying the successor to my least used system, or fund a company that angers me by tossing money to keep me from playing games for a while on my preferred console.
Try using that money you toss around for other incentives, like free online play, or hardware that doesn't take multiple revisions before it finally works properly.

Dont't even get me started on Skyrim which shipped with a nasty long play issues and would essentially break on you if you played it long enough. No excuse for that. Donn't forget that Bethesda tried to hide the inferior PS3 version by boycotting sending out the PS3 version for review. They shipped that game to the PS3 users knowing it had serious problems. We might get this DLC but I promise you it will have some kind issue on the PS3. Bethesda's games have ran wonky on the PS3 since Fallout3.
We are second class citizens in their world. I'm convinced of that. The way bethesda has treated the PS3 community over the years proves that.l

So I ask: Why the lack of love?
Ultimately Bethesda is in Microsoft's pocket. Sweet stuff for the 360 AND for PCs that - generally - feature *gasp* Windows OS!
I think I am just to a point where I am wishing (desperately) that a Sony-exclusive developer will conjure up something that can (finally) go toe-to-toe with Bethesda's games as far as scale and, honestly, epic-ness. That way we, of the under-privileged and un-loved, might finally be able to go, "Eh? Who is Bethesda? OH! You must mean that company that claims to be multi-platform but plays favorites! Right?"

I could care less about timed DLC, but when people pay $60 for the same game on a different platform, I expect the same functioning product. Skyrim may have won game of the year but it's still a Bethesda peace of s**t. If you buy their products you have no right to bi*** about it! This has been a known issue with them for three titles now. QUITE BUYING THEIR S**T!

Having said that, I wouldn't get worked up about missing out on Dawnguard. I'm certainly not buying it. It's just more of the same, in no way does it look like it's worth 20 bucks. In concept, I love the idea of revisiting game worlds I enjoy with new missions, content, story threads, etc. In practice, DLC is far more often than not is just just meaningless, tacked on content developed on the cheap to get more money out of hardcore fans and discourage people from selling their games off. (BIG exception to this was Mass Effect 2. A few of those DLC missions were as good or better than anything found in the retail release, and really did an awesome job setting the stage for Mass Effect 3.)

Then Todd Howard thought it'd be cool to show that game jam video to the public and preface it by saying "We did this all in one week... chuckle chuckle". Then in interviews stated yeah we want to do DLC for Skyrim. Fans then started yelling from the mountian tops for DLC because "if they can do the game jam video stuff in a week, where the hell is our DLC !".
So Bethesda puts out Dawnguard and says XBOX will get it first and we will have an announcement for when we are announcing the release dates for PC/PS3 shortly. I dont think they have any clue...
