Take-Two Posts Losses But GTAV Is Making "Substantial Progress"
Take-Two Interactive has Grand Theft Auto V in the hopper, and that's a good thing.
It should help to stem the tide of recent losses. Take-Two's latest quarterly results weren't good; the company suffered a $110.8 million loss, due in some part to lower-than-anticipated sales of Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops: The Line. There was also a mysterious "one-time payment" of $15 million.
Take-Two's net revenue registered at $226.1 million for the quarter, down from $334.4 million during the same period last year, but catalog sales leaped 50%, as they accounted for 26% of overall revenue. Digital sales grew 33% as well, so there are definitely some bright spots for the publisher. Max Payne 3 did manage to ship 3 million copies but obviously, the company expected more in the way of actual sales. As for GTAV, well...all they'll say is that development is in full swing and it's making "substantial progress."
Guess that's better than nothing.

Unfortunately though, after hearing so little about it in the beginning and nothing at all over the past year, I really don't think this game is going to happen. If it does happen I don't think it will be anywhere near what we had all been hoping for.
That's just my two cents. I hope they surprise me and come out with the badass PS3 exclusive masterpeice they hinted at years ago. But it's just been so shady I can't bring myself to believe they will.

one thing that REALLY pisses me off about publishers these days!
one reason why i really hate R*, they announce their games FAR too early that they cant talk about them!
whats the point of saying to your friend oh hey look ive got this awesome new toy!
than he says can i see it?
and you say oh sorry no not for a year or two.
so f*cking god dam frustrating!!!!!!!!!
R*, its simple.
either say yes its still in development and give us a screenshot or SOMETHING!
or just say sorry we have decided to cancel it.
trust me your going to piss off a hell of allot more fans just by constantly staying mum on it!

agent was announced E3 2009 3 years and 2 months ago!
max payne 3 was actually announced three months befor agent!
that puts it into perspective how far behind schedule agent is, even for R* standards!

and it has, its sold really well so what gives?
im shocked, i mean yea they had LA Noire last year, but that cost FAR more than MP3 to produce so how can they be in the red zone?
GTAV is costing THAT much to produce?
eh, maybe if they actually released agent this year they would be in a different position!
cant believe how long its been since they have said boo about the title!
even for R* its been a long time!
