ACIII Trailer: "The Most Detailed Action Character Ever Created"
1,000 new animations. Just for one character. But that's not all.
Ubisoft's new proprietary engine on display in the upcoming Assassin's Creed III, is quite the piece of technology.
The publisher showed it off in the latest trailer, in which they talk about how AnvilNext has allowed them to create a vast, highly detailed world that is more authentic than ever before.
More than 2,000 NPCs can be on the screen in a single sequence, and we should be immersed in one of the most believable environments in recent memory. They're saying Connor is "the most detailed third-person action character" ever thanks to this fresh technology, and they also remind us of all the new combat maneuvers he'll have at his disposal. Check it out:

They can back up this statement "the most detailed third-person action character", because it looks really good and they've done a good job. Most developers just say stuff and domt back it up. But there's nothing more impressive than Drake in Uncharted 3, and Kratos in GoW3. But it doesn't end there, all the characters in those games had incredible detail, not just the main characters. That's some of the most impressive detail I've ever seen. Also the characters in the Last of Us (not just the main character) look incredible.
Developers are starting to step up now, and I like that. I wish we'd get another PoP effort with the type of dedication they put towards AC.

So yes, the leap will just have to be a good and long one. Personally I hope Sony focus on more than just graphic capabilities this time around, it's the other areas the greatest leaps can be made compared to the ps3 imo - at least when it comes to the kind of games I prefer playing.
But even if we just count pixels, frames and details on screen the PS4 *will* be notably better. That's a given.
And I'll be first in line!
