ACIII Trailer: "The Most Detailed Action Character Ever Created"

1,000 new animations. Just for one character. But that's not all.

Ubisoft's new proprietary engine on display in the upcoming Assassin's Creed III, is quite the piece of technology.

The publisher showed it off in the latest trailer, in which they talk about how AnvilNext has allowed them to create a vast, highly detailed world that is more authentic than ever before.

More than 2,000 NPCs can be on the screen in a single sequence, and we should be immersed in one of the most believable environments in recent memory. They're saying Connor is "the most detailed third-person action character" ever thanks to this fresh technology, and they also remind us of all the new combat maneuvers he'll have at his disposal. Check it out:

And for all the whiners, Conner most definitely does attack a "Bluecoat" in this trailer(and just as I stated would happen numerous times already).

So they can STFU now.

Nah. The PC police will find something else to whine about. They always do.

This game is shaping up to be crazy good. I'm really excited for it, like I was when AC released (which was a let down for me).

They can back up this statement "the most detailed third-person action character", because it looks really good and they've done a good job. Most developers just say stuff and domt back it up. But there's nothing more impressive than Drake in Uncharted 3, and Kratos in GoW3. But it doesn't end there, all the characters in those games had incredible detail, not just the main characters. That's some of the most impressive detail I've ever seen. Also the characters in the Last of Us (not just the main character) look incredible.

Developers are starting to step up now, and I like that. I wish we'd get another PoP effort with the type of dedication they put towards AC.

Now I ask who needs the next gen consoles? It appears some devs are just better and more committed than others.

Exactly, why stop at 2000 NPCs when you could have 10,000?

We don't know the specs yet but we're closing in on a *decade* since the PS3 were designed. That is a crazy long time in the hardware world.

So yes, the leap will just have to be a good and long one. Personally I hope Sony focus on more than just graphic capabilities this time around, it's the other areas the greatest leaps can be made compared to the ps3 imo - at least when it comes to the kind of games I prefer playing.

But even if we just count pixels, frames and details on screen the PS4 *will* be notably better. That's a given.

And I'll be first in line!

Nice approach to a new game engine. Most developers just go for the graphics award. Wonder how smart the NPC AI is? Lets hope the whole thing runs glitch free.

this is exactly what really worries me about this game!
the developers have turned into $ony SM!
GOW3 sucked donkey balls because all the developers cared about was their stupid zipper technology!
amazing graphics do not make a good game, fun awesome gameplay and a deep interesting story do!
ubisoft seriously need to stop trying to best out the technology and worry about the dam gameplay!
still waiting for my cities ubisoft!!!!!!!
sorry, is this assassins creed or red dead?
looks like a country westerner!
remove the name assassins creed and you would not know it had anything to do with the series!
sigh.
just once can we have a franchise that does not get turned up on its head?
just once!?

______, are you asking that, just this once, a franchise never changes and evolves, and puts out the same game every year with new campaign maps? I'm pretty sure that's what some people were accusing of Brotherhood and Revelations, and people were getting fed up. It irks me how people will criticize a stagnant franchise, and then get all rustled when they try to shake it up.

Hopefully going to be good... Looks pretty promising. I wonder if AC:III will have the same effect AC:II had on me. Huge step-up in my opinion from the first to the second game. AC:III looks to have the potential to do that again.
