Crytek May Have A TimeSplitters Surprise "Coming Soon"

We're just trying to be optimistic in focusing on the latter part of the quote. If you want to focus on the first part, you won't be so positively hopeful.

But hey, it's all about perception and how you look at things, right? During a recent VG247 interview with Crytek founder and CEO Cevat Yerli, we get a little update concerning the uncertain future of the well-respected TimeSplitters franchise.

Yerli also talked about how consoles are in danger of falling behind tablets as being "the first thing" a gamer grabs for because the current generation is "drying out." ...but I'm going to ignore that for now. It's a tad too ridiculous to acknowledge. Anywho, here's what Yerli had to say when asked about TS:

"I tested through my official blog to see how big the Timesplitters community is, and while the volume of responses was quite high, we feel it’s not high enough yet. That being said, it did indeed trigger a deeper evaluation of what we do with Timesplitters, and I can only say this for now; we might have some surprises coming soon."

Okay, well that's potentially a good-news bad-news situation. On the one hand, the response hasn't been big enough, and yet it was big enough to turn heads at the studio, right? So what might the surprise entail? Are they anticipating the response to just keep rising in terms of "volume," which means they're thinking of making a move...?

It's gona be tricky. I literally have all the previous entries of TS on PS2. Only thing I'm missing as of now, is in fact a PS2.

So if there are more people like me, why would you buy an HD of something you already own.

HD on it's own is not gona cut it, brotha.

An HD Collection is what I was thinking too!

There are 3 on the PS2 as far as I know and if they had all the previous titles at 1080p 60fps with trophy support (and perhaps maybe even online, at least for Future Perfect) that would be sweet! In fact Future Perfect is the only one of the TS I have and it is probably my favorite FPS on that platform. FP definitely has an abundance in characters and somewhat in weapons, including a nice variety of maps, one each for several genres! I also quite liked that it has quite a variety of modes, different options to customize, a few different vehicles and mounted weapons, character perks and drawbacks and AND good older fashioned 4 person split-screen!

Admittedly I haven't played many on the PS2, but I still have Area 51 (I think), 007 GoldEye: Rogue Agent and Project Snowblind and TS:Future Perfect. Another series I like, have both only played the first but haven't finished yet, is The Suffering. I thought it was thoroughly creepy and plenty tense and scary. I think it's a neat 3rd/1st person hybrid as you can switch between both styles anytime, although I usually played in 1st person and thought it was a more effective viewpoint for attacking.

I digressed, but I'd like to sum it up by saying I certainly encourage a well made HD collection with all the perks possible, which I'd like a copy of said collection as soon as it's out and I have room in my budget. Didn't mean to ramble on there, but I'm quite enthused about the possibility. Thanks for reading. Later.

If they make a full game I'm in. But if they make a free to play game as they said they might. I'm out and not looking back.

problem is 30000 is bubcus!
even if they got to 100000 its still bubcus!
games these days cost at the very least 30M to make!
so if they sold 100000 units at say the US price which is 60 bucks that brings in 6M bucks!
a MASSIVE loss of 24M bucks!
and thats just in development costs, that is not including publishing costs, packaging costs, advertising costs, ect, ect.
and thats the minimum, everyone knows crytek go a little extravagant so it would be more likely to end up spending 45M bucks!

they would be much better off to do a kickstarter program.
one thing i hate about cervat is he has a MASSIVE ego!
oh crytek cant be seen on kickstarter, that would be like the queen doing toilet duties!
for fucks sake dude get over yourself!!!!!!!
if you really want timesplitters 4 as much as you say you do, than you will swallow your ginormous ego and do everything to make it happen!
IE a kickstarter!

I am not one to play FSP's normally but Timesplitters was just so well crafted it was hard to resist. Also the light hearted comedy and art design was really pushed this game to be a highly enjoyable experience.

I have never cared for Crysis, it's just not my thing. But If a Timesplitters 4 was released this gen I'd buy it day 1.
