Capcom Unveils Remember Me, Once Known As Adrift

Capcom has a new one for us, and it seems both ambitious and promising, much like this year's very solid Dragon's Dogma.

Except their latest new IP isn't a fantasy-driven open-world RPG. Far from it; it's a sci-fi third-person action game called Remember Me, which is in development at Dontnod Entertainment and is scheduled to launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in May 2013.

You may not be entirely unfamiliar with the project, as it was originally called "Adrift" when it was first announced. The game follows the story of Nilin, an "elite memory hunter" who has had her own memories stolen away in a future where there are no secrets. Nilin is not only capable of kicking your face in, she can invade your mind and take control, which reminds us of past titles like Syndicate and Mindjack. This engaging adventure could be pretty great.

Here's the official debut trailer for Remember Me:

Gotta say, that's a slick-lookin' trailer. Not enough good original sci-fi titles anymore, and this one seems to be giving a gameplay nod to Uncharted, Mass Effect, and maybe even Assassin's Creed. I'll be excited to see how it turns out!

Seriously, Capcom is on fire! If they would just stop the DLC milking and DLC-On-Disc fiascoes they could be adored by all fans.

Nilin is beautiful and reminds me of Kate Beckensale from Total Recall! She was a total bad ass in TR! This looks fantastic and I love the Blade Runner-esque look to this. Let the waiting game begin, thanks Ben!

They haven't disappointed me with Asura's Wrath or Dragon's Dogma. So I'm expecting this one to be good.

It has Ghost in the Shell influences written all over it, but it definitely looks like my kind of game. I wanna try it.

Hmmm seems interesting, as many have stated there as been a lack of 'original' sci-fi titles and this seems like it may well deliver. I'm not sure about the main character yet, but it was only the first trailer so i'll remain patient.

A cyberpunk setting with female protagonist doing awesome moves is just never wrong.

@woorld I 2nd that we need more 3rd person action titles with females protagonist who aren't over-sexed like Bayonetta (even though I liked the overall game) Sony needs to do a sequel 2 Heavenly Sword lol

and the new Vita CoD looks like crap. Like graphically it's worse than every CoD released this gen. Killzone for Vita however does look pretty nice, graphically. Way.. WAYYY better than CoD.

This looks mighty interesting. It looks like a combination of about a dozen awesome games and anime. Keeping this on my radar, the ONLY thing that worries me is its capcom and I hate them and there DLC.
