Japan Studio's Rain May Aspire To Subtle, Beautiful Artistry

Just an FYI, the reason I didn't post this up yesterday with all the other new game announcements is because I was kinda hoping to get more information via press release this morning.

But obviously, they're not quite ready to reveal more about this game, so we'll just have to go with what we've got. As is, "Rain" is a working title for the new downloadable project in development at Japan Studio; what we do know is that it'll be exclusive to the PlayStation Network.

This intriguing, classy drama will feature "a story of an invisible world revealed by the rain." You will play as a young boy who only sees himself in the rain as he attempts to (possibly) track down this vision of a girl he had upon first waking in the mystical land. That's about all the info we have, but there appears to be gameplay in the debut trailer, and the game clearly has immense promise as a true form of interactive art.

WOw, looks cool.I was thinking about this game while I was playing one of JAPANstudio's earlier games, Ico, last night. I actually see some similarities, too, between them.

FYI, I Tweeted last week that SCEA's Eric Levine had confirmed with us that the game was still in development. :)

nice, it looks great, I think I've seen a short animated movie with a similar concept also from japan, it doesn't matter, it looks great and has a intriguing story. I also stumble upon Tokyo Jungle, Japan has good innovative games right now.

Wow. That's what I'm looking for! And they could not have chosen better music. "Claire de Lune" is a brilliant impressionist piece for a brilliant-looking game.

looks sweet!
its such a shame $ony has waited so long to start releasing some games out of their most talented studio!
i mean the ps3 has been out for 6 years almost, and what do they have to show for it!?
they really need to push the studio into releasing more games!
maybe expand them hire some new staff, they always release such unique titles so we really need them to put out as many titles as possible!
