Negative Fan Reaction To Hitman Saints Trailer Yields Results
You've got to be careful when releasing new content to die-hard fans of any given franchise. Always.
When the Saints trailer for Hitman: Absolution debuted, it generated a whole lot of backlash centered on its shootout-style atmosphere. Why? Because that patented stealth for which the series is so well known just didn't exist.
As a result, developer IO Interactive has responded; director Tore Blystad told Eurogamer that while the Saints trailer is based on a level within the game, and you don't have to approach it with guns blazing, they could've done the video differently.
"We learned from the trailer that we really needed to give these characters some context and some backstory. We're working within the game - within that level - to build these characters up before you meet them. That way you know what you're getting and you aren't put off by them.
We were surprised by the reaction to it. We've been trying to find out, y'know, how could we not see this happening? If we knew it would get such a negative reaction we would have done it in a different way."
Blystad added that the team was inspired by "Grindhouse"-style movies so the trailer fit the style, but the Saints is a "more extreme level in the game than others." Hope that appeases the fans.

Or any stealth game that has that option for that matter, but it is more satisfying doing the mission with stealth in my opinion.

Some of these people really need to take a step back & start focusing on fixing the real life crime in the streets we live in instead of harmless pixels that us as individuals have a choice to view or not to view.
Stop mothering people's personal entertainment & get a life.

they stick their finger in the lamp socket and get electrocuted, than go do it again and again and again!
ever since this game has been announced its been criticized for being a mindless action game!
so how couldent they expect this would blow the fan through the roof!?
i mean come on, i banged my bosses wife, i blew his 18M dollar house to the ground, i trashed his 1.2M dollar sports car so why is he so pissed off at me?
he should be elated!
rolls eyes.
and this is exactly why 99% of games these days SUCK!
they cant be 1 thing, they have to be everything rolled into one!
EA a perfect example every single game they have made this gen is trying to cram everything in!
dead space a perfect example, its not enough for it to be a horror game it has to be a horror game, and a gears wannabe and a lost planet wannabe!
why cant it just be one thing?
they do realize by stretching it out to every genre there ruining the game this destroying its sales right?
i really cant understand why publishers refuse to understand that!
they think customers are idiots, they see the game advertised as x,x,x,x,x and x, and anyone who likes one of those xs will go buy it.
ah, nah, it does not work like that!
someone who wants a gears game is not going to go buy dead space!
and someone who wants a horror game is not going to go buy gears!
i wish publishers would get that through their god dam thick skulls!

Look, IT's A TRAILER! Jeezus. Just bask in the merciless response to fire upon 47 in the trailer and realise that it's still the same game that we've all fell in love with.
YEAH! Hitman! Hope he still sounds the sophisticated devil-type.

A massive evolution is FFVl to FFVll. NOT FFVl to FFXlll for example, and this game seems to be showcasing the latter type of change. An unwelcome change.
And...evidently, many people care about this.
