Spiders Prepping Cyberpunk Action/RPG: Mars: War Logs

Anything labeled "action/RPG" always gets my attention.

Spiders, the team that brought you Of Orcs and Men, is prepping its proprietary Silk Engine for a new effort: Mars: War Logs, which will indeed be an action/RPG with a cyberpunk setting. It'll arrive for the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC some time next year.

The press release says we can expect "a wide variety of quests, dynamic tactical combat, and extensive character specialization through different skill trees and a complete craft system." That sounds great and I'm a big fan of depth and customization, but that teaser trailer doesn't tell us much. Still, we know we'll play as protagonist Roy Temperence and the setting will be "over a century after the catastrophe that threw the planet and its colonists into chaos."

That's enough for now. Besides, anything on Mars has the potential to be unassailably cool.
