Rumor: Skyrim DLC "Heartfire" May Introduce Necromancy

Zombies have a right to go anywhere in this industry. They've earned it.

While PlayStation 3 owners are still waiting to see when they might get the latest Skyrim DLC - Dawnguard - there has been talk of yet another piece of downloadable content.

As reported at Gameranx, the new extra content might be called "Heartfire" (as evidenced by a new trademark application filed by Zenimax), and the rest is interesting: The site believes Heartfire "relates to a Necromancy-related ceremony called 'Tales and Tallows,' a practice long since made illegal under Imperial law." Necromancy could be cool and it certainly implies that the undead will be part of the expansion.

Of course, we're only talking about speculation. We're hoping Bethesda will announce the new DLC some time soon, but PS3 owners shouldn't get too excited. DLC for the PS3 version of Skyrim is gonna come late; you'll just have to accept that.

Conjuration school of magic was always tied to summoning from other plains and raising the dead, I don't really understand necromancy in TES at this point.

I dont really understand that company anymore. Why they didnt just go xbox exclusive is beyond me. Then port to PC. They cleary dont understand the PS3 nor seem to care about its players.

There was already Vampires too, and lots of them, but they still found a good enough reason to make an entire DLC around them.

What's with the gothic theme? First DLC was Vampires, second DLC is necromancy.... these things are the same tone/style and are already in the game!!!!

They need to be doing some DLC that differs from things and themes in the current game, adding a new experience. Either that or they should just give us DLC that will show the final war between the empire and the Thalmor. Come on.... i mean..... that is a can of worms EVERYONE wants to open.

WHEN WILL YOU GIVE US DRAGON MOUNTS!!!!

Only the die hard Skyrim fans still play. As far as im told anyway. I had 6 or 7 people playing non-stop last year now they just play dark souls or battlefield.

Glad they've announced new DLC already when there are those that are unable to get a feel for what has already been released. I know we shouldn't complain (especially those of us that are exclusive to the PS3), but still... I guess there is some - SOME - justification to being bitter when Bethesda releases a lame-ass statement like, "We're just not satisfied with the PS3 model so we're going to continue getting our asses wiped by Microsoft until their toilet paper feels gritty. Maybe then our focus can shift to a final PS3 release for Dawnguard. Maybe."

Skyrim was a lot of fun for a long time but I eventually burned out. Screwing PS3 owners on DLC doesn't help matters any either.

Indeed. I grow weary of this practice.

Hey Bethesda, heres an idea, before you start working on the new DLC, how about you f**king give the 2 month old DLC to PS3 and stop taking it in the @ss from M$.

You are right Ben. I, as a Skyrim PS3 player had to accept it.

Shortly thereafter, Gamestop accepted my copy of Skyrim when I traded it in.

It's a little frustrating the PS3 and Bethesda don't seem to get along. But Skyrim was awesome and is plenty big enough without the DLC. So it's keeping me plenty busy. I really would rather see Bethesda do more things like the Shivering isles expansion, which had hours on top of hours of new entertaining gameplay. I'm not sure how big Dawnguard is, but I hate spending money on DLC that only gives you a couple missions or one mission thay could be considered lengthy, compared to others.

Regardless Bethesda needs to do something different. They make great games and are very talented don't get me wrong, but there business practice is terrible. That goes the same for a few other developers too.

I always seem to have trouble getting back into Bethesda's games after I put them down. Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim. Once I'm sated by the first 50-70 hours I'm just like... nope.

And zombies? Really? You could already summon the undead, and there were plenty of Draugr. I'd like to know how they're going to try to make it exciting.

I know what you mean, but only for the Elder Scrolls for me. Once you own all the houses and have been to most areas the fact that there are hundreds of quests starts to wear on me.

Dawnguard didn't make Vampires exciting....but that didn't stop them.
