For Xenosaga To Return, The Fans Must Speak...And Beg
It's one of the most esteemed and beloved role-playing franchises of the last generation. Want it to come back, die-hard followers?
There are plenty of PS2 classics that are making their way to the downloadable world, and the Xenosaga titles could be among the crowd. However, for that to happen, PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Manager Morgan Haro said the fans are going to have to speak up.
He replied to a fan asking Sony to bring Xenosaga back in the form of digital PS2 classics; here's what Haro said over at the PlayStation Blog. It's encouraging.
"Make your voice heard on the Namco Bandai forums to have the best possible chance to see this through. They’d need to sign off on it, but there are technical considerations as well (like will it work with the PS3 firmware to emulate this PS2 title)."
First there was Xenogears, which was a critical smash hit on the PS1, and then came the spiritual successor in the form of Xenosaga. There were several follow-up efforts, too, all featuring the franchise's really awesome heroine, KOS-MOS. Don't know her? Check her out in a simple Google image search...the fans love her.

And HD update would be even better. Still even in SD I'd buy all three. I have the first one but I'm still bitter over the fact that PS2 B/C was stripped and I don't like to fire up the PS2 much.
Maybe if games like Xenosaga, Grandia III, Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud(s), and Suikoden 3-5 ever made it to the PSN people would have to look at the sales and go "Hey there's a market for JRPGs, who would have thought?"

While I'm at Namco's forum, I think I will make some noise about getting a partial localization of Idolmaster 2 for PS3 as ell. I don't think I could take that game if they fully localized it with a dub, since the game is primarily about the pop idols that the producer is guiding to stardom. You really need the original voices for it to work right. But, a sub'd version would be awesome - and if the number of English walkthrough guides for a thoroughly Japanese game are anything to go by, it'd be popular too.

Same to you, Sony! Bring the Dark Cloud series in HD with trophies to the PS3 and it'll be Day 1.
I'm not interested in PS2 Classics since I can easily pick them up in store for my PS2 but if they're in HD with trophies on one disc, I'll snatch them up. Same with Shadow Hearts.

Xenosaga was still good but Xenogear was better imo. I just wished it wasnt dropped or that information was shared with the Xenosaga devs so it would fill in the gap . . .

Another reason it would be perfect for an HD collection is that the story of the games all flow into each other, so it's entirely compelling to start with the first and play through them all.
Well I suppose I'm off to the Namco Bandai forums...
