Michael Clarke Duncan, Film And Voice Actor, Passes Away
It'd be impossible to not recognize the deep, booming bass of Michael Clarke Duncan.
You've seen him in "The Green Mile," "Armageddon," and "Daredevil," among other movies, and he lent his great voice to several animated shows, including "Teen Titan," "Family Guy," and "Spider-man: The Animated Series." But he has also been involved in the video game industry for a while.
Duncan was in most of the God of War titles, and you would've heard him in the Saints Row games as well. His list of credits even extends to The Suffering, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs, Soldier of Fortune, and Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone. So it's very sad to learn that Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away, apparently due to complications after having a heart attack in July. He was only 54.
Sadly, I'm reminded of the scene in "Armageddon" where a doctor tells Duncan his cholesterol is "shockingly bad" and the big dude rips off his shirt and poses. ...but unfortunately, big doesn't necessarily translate to healthy. Rest in peace, Michael; here's hoping another mysterious realm is already enjoying your voice.
