Capcom Says Leaked Resident Evil 6 Copies Were Stolen
You may remember last week's story concerning the leaked RE6 copies in Poland.
Well, they weren't just leaked; they were stolen and sold. According to what publisher Capcom told Eurogamer, the copies that got plenty of attention on the Internet a month before the official launch weren't a result of a broken street date.
"Capcom is currently undertaking a thorough investigation into reports that Resident Evil 6 is being sold ahead of its official October 2 release date. At this time, all we can add is that it would appear this unfortunate incident is limited to a small quantity of stolen copies of the German USK PlayStation 3 version of the game."
Only one or two shops were apparently selling these stolen copies, and Capcom hasn't said exactly how many got into the hands of not-so-lucky consumers. As if it's any shock, one of those consumers is trying to sell his copy on eBay; the starting bid is €478.78 with a buy-it-now price of €1196.71. You interested?

Reason why developers such as ATLUS and Kojima Pro succeed is because they stay true to themselves and know they want to take the legacy they've created and only put their hearts and minds into it.
THEY DON'T TRY TO BE ACTIVISION AND MAKE EVERYTHING SUPER ACTION-ORIENTED SINCE THAT'S WHAT THE MARKET APPARENTLY WANTS.

what is though is how did the people who stole them get into the manufacturing plant?
assuming that is where they stole them from, its too early for them to be stolen from retailers.
i wonder if publishers will start to hold back manufacturing till the last minute now.
manufacturing plants have leaked allot of information this generation so i would not be surprised if instead of having things printed as soon as ready publishers decide to let them sit under lock and key for a while.
just concerning how many leaks and the lack of security there is especially from manufacturing plants!

Funny I had a dream last night that I got a copy of RE6 and it was even worse than RE5.
