Square Enix Files Circle Of Mana Trademark In Japan
Secret of Mana. Say the title and watch old-school veterans grin.
I remember getting Legend of Mana back during the original PlayStation days, which was a beautiful hand-drawn adventure that wasn't exactly like SoM, but it was still pretty special.
So how's about another one? The most recent titles (Heroes of Mana and Dawn of Mana) didn't really cut the mustard in many a gamer's opinion, but one can always hope for a return to old-fashioned goodness. According to Gematsu citing FF-Reunion, Square Enix has filed a new trademark for "Circle of Mana" in Japan. Obviously, one gets ideas in one's head considering the possibilities; me, I want a true Secret of Mana-type downloadable game.
Hey, mechanics from yesteryear can work out just fine in the digital world. Just look at Rainbow Moon.
