PSXE Poll Update: Ground Zeroes An Instant Hit With Fans

Very much unlike Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, the new project from Hideo Kojima and Konami has earned plenty of positive responses from gamers everywhere.

We wanted to know what you guys thought of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, based on the information we have and that pretty unbelievable 10-minute presentation. It's not a big shock to see that the vast majority say it looks great, and they'll be keeping their eyes on it as time goes on. Most went the whole way and said they'd be picking up the hotly anticipated title the instant it hits store shelves. Well, when it comes to guys like Kojima, there's a very slim chance that the final product will be disappointing. We might have to wait a while for it but the end result is unquestionably awesome. At least, so far.

This week, as rumors shift back to Grand Theft Auto V (there's a chance of seeing the full unveiling around Christmas), we want to know if you think this extended development cycle is a bad sign. The last GTA launched back in April of 2008 and many are wondering if Rockstar is working on both current- and next-gen versions of the game. Maybe that's taking extra time...but are you at all concerned?

I was blown away quite frankly.

We are still talking this generation hardware and "Ground Zeroes" proved again how much life there is in current tech, not to mention the brilliance of the actual game itself. It was quite astonishing.

When watching the footage I thought I was watching CGI; only later did I realise it was actually real-time footage. This FOX engine is an utter beast... The anti-aliasing, real-time focus pulling, blur and lighting affects were amazing for this generation. There is some serious optimisation and engineering going on there, no doubts...

I have put this game on the top of my list...

Q!

Watched the 10-minute demo a couple of days ago (i was late to the party) & was awe-struck.

Is this confirmed for PS3/360 or is it next gen? Because that doesn't look possible on current consoles imo. Hope i am wrong though.

Yeah, PS3 & 360 confirmed. The demo was running on a high end PC, Kojima said the console versions will look "roughly" the same.

It's been confirmed pretty much everywhere, and also, I heard that it was running on a PC with current console specs, not really high-end.

@Killa Tequilla
At the end of the demo (i think maybe the extended 15 minute one) it shows which consoles it will be released on, and it shows the PS3 and Xbox 360 logos,

@daus26
Your right. I'm still thinking of the tweets people were sending out during the 25th anniversary event saying it was on a "high end PC". Kojima confirmed otherwise though.

Rockstar has quiet a bit of games up their sleeves now, and a game as huge as GTAV, it's only normal that it's taking quiet bit of time, to me.

I'm personaly waiting on Midnight Club, and they always release that soon after GTAV, so can't wait.

MGS and open world seems like a natural fit after watching the trailer, can't wait to see what Kojima has in store. Also it looks to tie in quite a bit with Peace Walker, which is right up there with 3 as my favorite games in the franchise so looking forward to more story details. This game has moved right to the top of my most-wanted list even ahead of The Last of Us which I'm also stoked for.

I cross fingers and toes that GTA5 is for next gen consoles, and that's why they are holding up. I sincerely hope so.

I do *not* want to play an inferior version on my PS3. No sir.

I'm sure GTA is clicking along, it's one thing when a normal developer vanishes but Rockstar is the Howard Hughes of developers. They are holed up in a hotel room somewhere collecting urine and growing their fingernails as they code for the game.

I'll never get another Manhunt or Bully...

I hear they're also building another "Spruce Goose", using of wooden matchsticks this time.
