Home Tycoon: Build And Manage Your Dream 3D City

I've never really been into the Sim games but you know, this sounds awfully appealing.

For all you PlayStation Home dwellers, a new 3D city-building game is coming soon: As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog, Home Tycoon well let you "create your dream city from the ground up, explore it at street level as your own avatar, and share your metropolis with friends."

This will test your creativity and imagination to the max, as this will be a living, breathing city with "tons of story-driven missions and activities" to keep you occupied. Vehicles can be driven, there will be over 50 avatar rewards to unlock and earn, and as the Mayor, you'll be tasked with gathering resources and brokering strategic business alliances to get your economy going. There are over 60 unlockable units as well, including apartment buildings, luxury homes, public parks, power plants, research hospitals, police stations and more.

Of course, every city faces its fair share of problems so you'll need to be on top of things all the time. Here are the key features:

  • Build your dream city from a bird’s-eye view and explore it at street level as your PlayStation Home avatar
  • Balance your economy to maximize your city’s income, growth, and happiness
  • Create custom racetracks and drive like a maniac with your friends
  • Compete on the leaderboards and visit other cities at the Train Station
  • Make your city shine with dynamic day & night controls
  • Expand your empire with mission packs, unlockable building rewards, and suburb cities

Now this sounds like something that could totally own your life.

Home's already letting you blueprint your own apartment, so why not.

Killa Tequilla,

I wasn't really interested in it so I didn't check it out.

But if you go into home, one of the 1st things it shows you (while the screen is loading), is that you can now blueprint & build your own apartment digs.

Just click into Home & check for yourself

Now that is cool. I see plenty of hours being spent there with one of my sons.

I used to play games like this, but that was so long ago. I was really into SimCity 2000.

Shut up you peasants! Without the coal pollution you will have no power! You want clean energy?! Wind power is not enough bang for my buck! Oh I know, you want more taxes don't you? That's right, try sticking it to the man now! Traffic jams?! Walk to work you lazy bastards!

Maybe I'll try a game like it out again sometime in the near future because I kinda miss it ;)

Home is officially more than I ever thought that it would be. I'm stunned that it has grown so much, yet remains completely free, and continues to add in expansions that were regarded as implausible, if not impossible, by many only two years ago. I seriously want to try it out :'(

I only wonder... what will it become with the additional power of the PS4?

You're really missing out on so much for not being able to go online much. Not muchh progress on the high-speed internet front yet, Lawless? You should move! LOL Just kidding.

Lawless,

<<<<I only wonder... what will it become with the additional power of the PS4?>>>>

They just might have to change the name from Home to "Planet Earth".

Just recently checked on that, actually Zettai. As it transpires, the telecom companies see it as impossible to hook a wired broadband connection to my place of residence, and refuse to offer satellite broadband. It's completely bollocks. As for moving, that's a peculiar process for me, but I'll probably be residing elsewhere at the end of next year :)

See you online then.

Wow that sounds really appealing, havent been on Home in years. I was just wondering if it would survive into the next generation and I guess there's no reason to doubt that.

Definitely geared towards the creative individuals, I can imagine if you weren't already interested in the other build-your-own type games that this could just be written as another quirky feature of Home.

Still though, I'm looking forward to trying this one out, it has been a while since I last roamed around Home with the guys and now we'll be able to do more than just hang out at the casino and beach.

I don't care much for the looks of it, but have wanted one of these games this entire generation. These were always some of my favorite types of games to play, and this will actually get me to go back into Home as well, not bad.
