Killzone HD Date, Trophies Revealed
We know the Killzone Trilogy is coming on October 23; it boasts the last two series entries and a high-definition overhaul of the original title.
But many have played the last two on the PS3 and perhaps only a few played the first game, possibly due to lukewarm reviews. Therefore, if you're only missing the original and want to play the high-def upgrade, you can do so on the same day: Killzone HD will be available on October 23 for $14.99.
This news, along with the full Trophy list, was just announced over at the PlayStation Blog. They bring you up to speed on the story and also remind you that there are four playable characters for the single-player campaign. Plus, there's an offline multiplayer mode for you and your friends and thanks to the new HD upgrade, we get "MSAA filtering, sharper textures and higher quality sound effects."
The bottom line is that Killzone was never bad. It just wasn't that great, and this reimagining makes it better.

I never played it online in the PS2, but I've heard that there was somewhat of a "cult" following back then. I figured the majority of people playing would be those "good old boys," and that they would be more mature than most of the MP crowd out there today.

It was just like the offline multiplayer but more challenging and strategic with all these other people, gritty, very clean styled, oh, and somewhat close quarters. Therefore, there was little reason to even camp in these somewhat tight environments. It was very refreshing, every map was unique and there was nothing that made you even think about CoD or Halo with it.
I only stopped playing it since during one thunderstorm it blew out the ethernet port for my slim ps2, so I could only wait to get a PS3 to even think of continuing the fun.. but that's a distant thing now with no PS2 discs working on PS3 now. :p
