Final Fantasy X HD May Be In Question...Fans Might Riot
Final Fantasy XJust about the only thing I'm clinging to in the FF universe right now is that Final Fantasy X HD reimagining.
And if Square Enix takes that away and just leaves us all with Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and still no unveiling of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, I might officially give up.
FFX HD was announced a full year ago at the Tokyo Game Show in 2011. We haven't heard anything about it since then, so PSU tried to get a status update from Square Enix. As you can see, that didn't go well. Senior Public Relations Manager David Yang said:
"Thanks for your inquiry. We have no information on FINAL FANTASY X HD to share at this time."
So then they just wanted to know if the game was still in development and again, concerning vagueness:
"Again, we have no information we can share at this time. Sorry."
Oh, that's just grand. The one thing they could've done to actually appeal to the legions of jilted fans and- Okay, let's not overreact. Having dealt with Square Enix PR in the past, this is a pretty typical response (you'd get it a thousand times if you tried getting any info on Versus XIII, for example). They really don't like talking to the press unless they're prepared to talk.
That being said, Square Enix, don't you...just don't...I swear...

The sales for PSP games in the U.S SUCK - plain and simple. They either get pirated or whatever.
Why spend all that extra money on localizing it when you'll hardly see a return.
There are very few hardcore fans like us which would want a game like FF Type-0 to come here.

(sorry, my local stupid gym doesn't open until 10:15am on Saturdays. I forget this every time. I drive over there and the empty parking lot rudely reminds me of this every time. Then my body is stuck pulsing with pre-workout powder... mmh beta-alanine, mmh caffiene and NO. GOTTA PUNCH SOMETHING!)

Those are ALL of the games announced for the HD treatment AFTER Square announced "Final Fantasy X HD" and guess what? They ALL have release dates/windows.
What about this game though after a whole year of nothing? Still no comment.
Between this game, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Type-O, and everything else, I'm wondering if Square is seriously just incompetent at their job or are they TRYING to fail?

I convinced myself that this would be such a good idea for the health of the vita that sony would hold a fire under squares butts to get this done. If they would put Tidus in All-Stars battle royale and have my bundle out for the holidays I'd love to see the vita compete in the market this xmas
But anyways. I guess the lack of info isn't all bad. At least I can just go buy a vita now and quit holding my breath.

It is very possible - other companies do it all the time. Heck, Square-Enix /USED TO/ do it all the time. Then when the PS3 came out, they forgot everything they ever knew about creating games it seems. I don't know - they just lost their minds somehow. It is very sad and maddening at the same time. There is no excuse for how long they take to actually produce ANYTHING.

In any case, I probably would get it if released, until then I am certainly content with my PS2 version.
