PSXE Poll Update: Most Have Faith That GTAV Will Rock
While a few of you are a little concerned, most aren't questioning the lengthy development cycle for Grand Theft Auto V, or the fact that we haven't heard anything new since the debut trailer arrived last December.
The majority of readers said they aren't worried about the current status of GTAV, although it's important to note that a fair percentage did seem undecided. Some - myself included - have contended that Rockstar is taking extra time to prepare the ridiculously anticipated title for both current- and next-gen consoles. Others say we won't see the game until later next year, which contrasts with earlier Q1 2013 predictions. Just remember that Take-Two's financial predictions for this fiscal year mean they sorta have to release GTAV before March 31, 2013...otherwise, those rosy expectations ain't gonna come true.
This week, although it has nothing to do with Sony, it's a no-brainer poll. A new piece of gaming hardware has been officially introduced and we want to know what you think. A lot of people seem to view the Wii U as little more than just another Nintendo gimmick, but others really like the price and relatively impressive launch software. What say you?

As for WiiU, I dunno. I mean, I have some interest in it but none of the exclusives are really speaking to me and making me really want one. Maybe at some point in the future.

it never ceases to amaze me how short sheeps memories are!
this is nothing new, R* ALWAYS takes their sweet time between reveals and always are very careful with what they show.
so i really cant see what the fuss is about.
however that said im worried about what it will be like.
will it be like GTAIV, IE a faceless, joyless, humorless, oh noooooooo you cant do that its not realistic, taxi driver simulator.
or will it be the controversial, tong in cheek humour, nanny poking, police mocking, fun for the sake of fun we have come to expect.
im not sure.
tbh im getting a bit of both.
you look at what they have shown off, everything hints to immaculate attention to detail and scale.
the endless mountains with handgliders, the tennis courts, the cars, everything screams im big and you can do so much in me!
oh get your mind out of the gutter!
but that said it also screams im dull and boring!
the look of the streets, the cars, the people, the foreclosing houses, the deserted streets.
are these really the things that make a fun tank rolling over a police car and into the police station GTA!?
so to be honest i wouldent be surprised to see a GTAIV but with san andreas scale.
and thats exactly what i have been worried about!
i still really cant understand why every sequel this gen has to be so different!
why cant we get vice city but with current gen graphics and a totally different mission style?
why?
why does every single god dam sequel have to be a new IP, and not a sequel!?
why!?
once, just once, id like to say yup this is a game that came out in 2005!
because then, and only then, will we truly have a sequel to a game from last gen!
as for the wiiu, ill be getting it day one.
simply because of zombie u!
i mean come on, its been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long since we had a TRUE survival horror game!
the day i first saw a video on it i felt like i was a old fart looking back at so long ago when we use to be saturated in things that went boo in the night.
ill be getting it just for that though, everything else really is pretty disappointing.
most of the launch window products, nov to march, are games that will be out on other platforms either earlier or same time but cheaper.
zombie u and SMB are really the only 2 games announced for it im interested in.
hardly warrants a 430 dollar price, plus 200 for those games but god dam it thats how desperate i am for a true survival horror game!
very disappointed though ninty really only has one first party title for launch.
this is one thing i absolutely LOATH about ninty and $ony!
time and time again they release new hardware, it sells poorly, then they come rolling in saying yea we made a mistake we did not have enough first party support we promise it wont happen again.
than there next hardware rolls in, and what happens...........
3DS did so poorly at launch because it had such little first party support.
ninty stuck their hands up and said our bad it wont happen again.
and heres the wii u doing it all over again!
sigh.
they know the problem, they accept their mistake, BUT THEY KEEP DOING IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
NOTHING is more infuriating than when someone keeps making the same mistake again, and again, and again!
i mean 100 different mistakes is annoying, but 100 of the same mistakes is just warranty for murder!
so, ninty, why are you doing it AGAIN!?
wii u would fly off the shelfs if they had a metroid game in the launch window!
or a conduit 3, or a donkey kong, or a madworld 2, or a super mario galaxy, or a........
theres so many exclusive franchises they have, and there utilizing so few of them for launch!
ok, obviously you cant have everything ready for launch but come on surely you can do better than this!
at least a new metroid, or diddy kong game!!!!!

Looked at the 10min preview demo & it does look pretty intense from the usual in-your-face zombie shooters. Might give it a go i reckon. I will keep my expectations at the door however just in case this one ends up smelling like zombie breath.
Cheers for the heads up.

As for the Wii U... Just as with the Wii, I'm taking a watch-and-wait stance. Granted, this same position has prevented me from acquiring a Wii... but nevertheless...

What I find surprising is it's not advertised too well in the shops like a poster above mentioned which i find odd seeing as though it's what? Month or two away from launch?

Wii U will be interesting to watch but nothing to note on my Chistmas list unless all JRPGs head that way, which could happen.
