Dead Island Riptide Trailer: We Die, But We're Taking 'Em With Us
You may recall that incredibly impressive CGI trailer that essentially put Techland's Dead Island on the map.
Well, it worked so well from a marketing standpoint that publisher Deep Silver has decided on the same approach for the upcoming sequel, Dead Island Riptide. It's emotional and even a touch sentimental, just like that first CGI presentation for the original title.
An idyllic setting and happy position, transformed in an instant to a dire, even hopeless situation. The couple in this video are penned in, the zombies have them surrounded, and there's no way out. But they've got gasoline tanks and a lighter...if they have to die, they're gonna take as many brain-eaters as they can with 'em. Brave and sweet, in a way. And I must be at least halfway twisted because at first, I thought she mouthed the words "Light the fuse," not "I love you."
It could've been either, though, right?

I think the animators meant for her to whisper "I love you" but it was obviously a little off.

This one was up there though, and while the song isn't going to be remembered by me, I definitely hope they continue this trend with these games. I love the emotional trailers these guys cook up.
