Plus Peeps Get Free Starhawk Campaign

PlayStation Plus members are just so well taken care of.

In addition to learning that the awesome service is coming to the PlayStation Vita, there are weekly reasons to be a subscriber to the PSN's premier service. If you want some current examples, head on over to the PlayStation Blog.

First and foremost is Starhawk, which is one of the better multiplayer experiences available. And although the latter isn't included, at least you get a big ol' taste with the entire single-player campaign! That's right, the Starhawk campaign will be free for Plus members as of today (Tuesday), along with a few pieces of add-on content. They also remind you that a MLG Starhawk $20,000 tournament is headed your way soon. But the good news doesn't end there.

Plus members always get cool discounts, too. Now you can get the wacky Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit digital title for 20% off ($11.99 instead of $14.99). You can also get 20% off on Tokyo Jungle; for trailers of both intriguing games, hit the Blog link above. In general, most Plus members find that their investment was well worth it, so take advantage.

I still want to give Starhawk a shot. I don't have PSN Plus, though. I also don't have Xbox Live. If I had Xbox LIVE I'd get FREE online play, like how PSN Plus members get a FREE Starhawk campaign =p

If you beat 1-2 games a year on it, you paid for your $50 price.
Not to mention all the discounts, bonuses, beta's, and the other 10+ games you'll get in one year.

definitely worth it!

ha, nah, sorry, I've thought it through. This service is not for me. It's a conflict of my spending habits. I've already adopted a practice of buying and KEEPING most of everything once on discount. Fighting games being the only real exclusion. By simply living 9 months behind the rest of the gaming populace I'm able to obtain more games than I could ever feasibly play. Added to that, all of these games are self-selected titles. I've had a few months of oppurtunty to snag Uncharted 3 from AMazon for $20. I just got BF3 for $10. I had a shot at Resistance 3 from Walmart for $15. AC: Revelations was offered to me for $13. These are games I can't expect to find on PSN Plus and these are games I'd rather spend my time playing over SOny's selection of titles they choose for me.

I also don't care for game betas and exclusive early demo access, or the "discounts" the service enables me. I'd like Cloud saves, but having a USB flash drive hanging out in a USB port does all the backing up I need.
I just see it as a means to get me to spend more than I want to in the end.

But hey, this may be your thing! Keep it up, and keep helping to usher in the digital distributed future of PS players ;)

oh, and btw, this living behind the rest of society thing works wonders for phones, too. I get an iPhone 4 for "free" now whenever I decide to go in and renew my contract. The best thing about iphone 5 releasing was last years cutting edge is now a handout by paying only for the already expensive contract service.

I'm with world, I will not buy anything from apple. Overpriced hardware with negligible updates year after year. Android phones are way more appealing for me and as far as computers go, macs are just ridiculously expensive for what you get.

+ keeps getting better and better!
that is IF this is for EU members as well, otherwise you know usual $ony giving EU the finger YET AGAIN!
just need to get more ps1 and ps2 games on the store and there set.
wish there was something you could use to play those games on your ps3!
instead of waiting for licenses, which most will never come, just run them through a emulator.
i guess thats one the many benefits of using a PC!

Umm EU the finger? you got motorstorm apocalypse, darksiders, deus ex HR, and red dead redemption for free (not to mention other full retail game si cant think of) Id say EU is getting the better PLUS treatment here.

but outside of plus?
US gets earlier release dates, cheaper games, many more events, 99% of competitions are US exclusive, exclusive content and bundles, exclusive events, ect, ect.
i wasent talking about plus specifically, more $CEEs treatment of their customers compared to $CEAs.

Plus just keeps getting better..I'll be on this definitely.

Temjin has a good technique. I tend to wait on game purchases or find a good deal. Yet there's no denying how many free games I've got by being a Plus member. Games I would have never even tried like Warhammer 40k Spacemarine..I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

I think the model they are doing is amazing. This is exactly what I was talking about in another article within the last month or so.

Splitting up the game modes between mulitplayer and singleplayer and selling them at different prices or the whole at one price. Its brilliant, because so many people want just the multiplayer and this is a great way for them to get in on it for I think its going to be 20 bucks, or 30. Which is a good price for a quality multiplayer only game.

I hope more people support starhawk because free DLC and map packs is a win for the industry and I hope more companies follow.

Also Tokyo jungle is amazing looking, not graphically but it just looks zany and japanese and wicked fun. I'm definitely going to pick it up...or not pick it up but download it >.<
