First Fresh PS3 Model Hits, Watch The Bundle Get Unboxed

The Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Game of the Year Edition bundle features the redesigned 250GB PS3 system, along with the award-winning sequel from Naughty Dog, more than $30 worth of extra content for the impending MMOFPS DUST 514, and a free 30-day PlayStation Plus membership.
But you know, it's just so much better to watch this bad boy get unboxed. That happened over at the PlayStation Blog and for many of you, it's your first up-close look at the new PS3. Some love the new design, some don't, but you can't dislike all that extra hard drive space. If you need even more (and maybe you've already got Uncharted 3), the 500GB machine debuts on October 30. And that bundle package will boast Assassin's Creed III. ...yeah.

The rounded edges of the main console actually make it more asthetically pleasing imo.
With that said, the new system wouldn't fir in my awesome verticle stand that holds 20 games, controllers and ps3 guitars, I'm sure with the new console being 25% thinner the verticle base would be slimmer and wouldn't fit in the ps3 slim attachment.
And also, with my son who's 2.5 years old, he already knows how to eject a disc from my current (older) slim model, and that's bad enough just being anle to get the disc if he so pleases, but to be able to slid the cover completely off the disc and lens would just be horrible.
I would be interested in this model if/when my current ps3 poops out on me if the ps4 isn't out by then, but it would have to be when my son was a little bit older.

I kept saying it was a top-flip disc cover only because I had watched another video about a week & 1/2 ago and in that one, the guy actually flipped the right side top upward to show us how to use the new disc tray, & not like it's actually being shown slipping up & over to the left, here in this vid.
So now I've got to wonder how he was even able to do it without snapping the cover right off the case????

Apparently the designers of these things have never tried to dust one. However I think they did it so that you wouldn't see the the grooves for the disc tray.

ive already had to replace my slim a few times now and its starting to run really loud again so i thought its best i throw in the towel before it does again.
1 request thought $ony, next time, when the ps4 comes out, for the love of god you seriously need to work on speeding up backups or something!
been 11 f*cking hours now and the stupid things only 43% complete!
at this rate the ps4 will be out by the time its finished backing up!
and i only have a 160GB HDD in there, i dont even want to imagine how long it would take if i had a 1TB HDD in there!

I like it so far. Not sure where I stand on that corrugated slider top yet, but it still looks pretty nice.
Once it's up and running I'll put a disc in and do a noise comparison with my old slim.
