Remember Me: Erase A Person's Memory And Erase Who They Are

Capcom has a highly promising new IP in the works called Remember Me, which is slated to arrive in May 2013.

In a future where even our memories are unsafe from the prying hands of skilled mind hackers, the protagonist - an acrobatic woman called Nilin - is one of those hackers (if you can call them that). Suddenly, the tables are turned and she is without parts of her memory, which creative director Jean-Maxim Morris says lies at the heart of the story.

According to PlayFront, Morris compared Remember Me to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, where the focus was on a "technology that has influenced the people." And our memories help define who we are, so...

"You are your memories. Consider a reminder that we have. With all their senses and emotions that are associated with it. Every memory is a way [to] who we are as a person. Now imagine, as someone comes along and converts this reminder. How you will change and how the influences around the people around you?"

In the game, you'll be able to alter someone's memories so as to change the course of events, as shown in one of the gameplay videos. It seems like an awfully intriguing concept and if Capcom gets it right, this could be a downright amazing game.

It has an early science fiction ring to it. Take a basic "What if?" and then build a story around it. I like how this game was not hyped at all until less than a year from release.. assuming there isn't a big delay.

Yeah very classic Sci-fi scenario. And that, by default, makes me interested. :)

Time to buy stock in Capcom! Seriously though, Capcom is really kicking some major A$$! Admit it, if it wasn't for their DLC gouging they would be really close to being my favorite dev. So impressed with this game and love that it is a new ip.

Expecting naught but the utmost goodness from DONTNOD with this one. I loved the entire concept of the game when it was Adrift and now that concrete details are leaking out, I'm rather excited about it. Should be good, if not great.

Just hoping they don't make it too short or chop it up with lots of dlc. I know it might have some other hic ups, but nonetheless the concept is starting to sound more interesting with every news headline.

This game will end up having a great storyline with interesting characters but fall flat in the gameplay department. Too many companies are making playable movies.

This is what I'm afraid of with this game. It looks great and I'm really interested but the little miss negative comes out in me and expects the worse.

Really hope it surprises. I love when games do that.

I know what you are saying, but the video from this game do look like they got the gameplay in order?

When it comes to gameplay I'm more worried about that next game from that Heavy Rain dude.

The combo lab is awesome, and with an intriguing concept, this game has a potential for greatness.
