Oddworld Remake Gets Renamed, New Footage Released
Okay, so the new name is a little long. But it still works.
An Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey remake has been in the works at Developer Just Add Water and at first, everyone was just calling it "Oddworld HD" or something like that. However, according to news freshly received at the Eurogamer Expo, the anticipated upgrade has the official title of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N' Tasty.
Remember, the game is being entirely remade from the ground up, so perhaps "Oddworld HD" wouldn't have done justice to such an ambitious project. The critically acclaimed title was an original PlayStation game so yeah, it probably needs to be entirely rebuilt. New N' Tasty is scheduled to launch this fall for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Vita, and they've tossed out some new footage as well. Man, I remember this...it was one of my favorite games of the entire PS1 generation. So unique, so beautiful for the time, so challenging...just so freakin' cool.

Oddworld: Spending $30m on games, not Ferraris and private jets
By Matt Martin
After telling Electronic Arts "f**k you", Lorne Lanning is back building games as his own micro-publisher
Oddworld Inhabitants
What did Lorne Lanning say to Electronic Arts when it wanted to acquire his studio, Oddworld Inhabitants?
"Fuck you very much."
And with that, he left the games business.
Now Lorne Lanning is finally doing what he intended all along - to make games for the fans. That hasn't been easy in a past where a much-loved franchise was hampered by the demands of the games business. Lanning is still wound up about that, still wound up by the terrible business practices that never worked in favour of the developer. The business practices that squeezed the most amount of work out of a developer for the least amount of rewards. Less than a console generation ago publishers were driving the sports cars while developers were eating out of bean tins.
