Total Recall Movie Will Come With God Of War: Ascension Demo

We're used to seeing demos bundled with games. But only recently have we seen some cross-venue promotion.

God of War: Ascension will be one of the most anticipated titles of 2013, and we got an eyeful at E3 this year. The prequel will launch on March 12 but if you'd like to get a peek before 2012 disappears, you'll just have to pick up a new Blu-Ray movie.

That movie is the director's cut of "Total Recall," a Blu-Ray/DVD combination pack (common these days), which will be on store shelves on December 18. The demo will feature that very same gameplay sample we saw at E3 in June, and there's no knowing if Sony will ever put it on the PSN for everyone to try. We just know those who pick up the hot new film starring Colin Farrell will be able to play God of War: Ascension nearly three full months early, and that's nothing to sneeze at.

This always makes me think of demos that came with big games...Devil May Cry with Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Final Fantasy XII with Dragon Quest VIII, etc. Never thought I'd see the day when a demo for a video game would be included with a new movie.

As curious as I am to play the demo, I already have the original Total Recall on blu-ray. That's good enough for me.

The original Total Recall was pretty good, but I also enjoyed this latest rendition... The GoW incentive is awesome though...

That is as awesome picture of GoW you have there, Ben. Makes me even more excited for the game.

That movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. Like it more than the first by a mile but I'm a techie so that's to be suspected. GOW sweetens the deal.

They pulled the same move with another movie a while back. What was the name of that movie? It had a GoWIII demo in it? I don't want to hurt the head trying to think of which movie it was. Think alians with a tolerance undertone.
Anyway I like the demo, I'll rent Total Recall if it comes with a Ascension demo. I knew there was a reason why didn't watch this in the theaters:)

I heard it was bad so that makes sense to boost the sales. I'm only gonna rent it but I'm sure they will cut the demo from the rental version like they do the extra features (damn them).

The last time I saw this was Battle LA and Resistance 3. That crossover actually made some sense.

That 'hot new film' is a complete turd.

Paul Verhoeven's movie can't be beat. We need more of his films actually. Is he retired now or what's he at?

I fear the new Robocop, the plot sounds messed up and his suit is all black, doesn't seem right.

And TMNT, I last heard they were aliens from outer space now.

I don't mind as much what color he is, but I hope the movie is good. I like the first three Robocop's.

No the TMNT themselves are not aliens from outerspace the ooze that turned them into what they are is from outerspace and this was confirmed by the co-creator of TMNT.

I actually like the new robocop costume, but well see hopefully both movies turnout at least decent.

This actually isn't the first time they did this--even with a God of War game. District 9's blu-ray came with a demo for God of War III.

sigh.
$onys at it again!
why is it every god dam time they do this only the US gets the demos?
what, the rest of the world does not like playing small portions of games 3+ months before release?
well f*ck you too $ony, if that is how you say thank you to your biggest fans!
gotta love their logic.
US treats $ony like sh*t!
by far the lowest sales, critics the harshest, all the lawsuits, ect, ect.
so they get treated like gold.
EU treats $ony like kings, so they treat EU like dog dirt.
makes perfect sense!
with logic like that its a wonder why the company is in the biggest financial disaster in the companies HISTORY!
