Assassin's Creed III: The Frontier Springs To Life Next Week
Location, location, location.
When it comes to expansive open worlds like the one we'll experience next week in Assassin's Creed III, the setting is quite possibly the most important element of the production. It's critical.
And considering we're looking at a significant period in history for this country, it'll be all the more interesting to see the oldest towns recreated with the newest technology. Head over to the PlayStation Blog and read up on how the developers set out to design a living, breathing Colonial world; it's pretty fascinating stuff. By the way, for all you out there who love the climbing aspect of past franchise installments and are wondering what to climb in ACIII, here's a comment from lead designer Steve Masters:
"There was also the big question, what’s going to be an interesting landmark to climb? Take the architecture of houses of this era — roofs had a pretty steep pitch, and that’s something we wanted to represent in the game. But changing the architecture meant we had to adjust the way the character plants his foot. Supporting fighting on this steep sloped terrain…it was all stuff that was new for us, and really challenging. It just took a lot of care and time."
There's going to be a lot to see and for the first time in the series, we'll have huge natural environments to explore as well. Toss in an overhauled fighting mechanic and what we hope to be a rich and rewarding story, and you've got the makings of a masterpiece. Cross your fingers!

If this keeps up its gonna be like "How I meet your mother" with Desmond going from one Animus to another telling stories how his ancestors got the Apple and lost it along the way.
+ the bleeding effect might drive Desmond insane!
