G4 Canceling X-Play, Attack Of The Show
Sorry, but most gamers would rather play than watch.
It was initially reported at Kotaku that G4TV was canceling all video game-related programming. Later, an official statement confirmed the unfortunate report.
"X-Play" and "Attack of the Show" Will be canceled after this year is over; G4 will run original episodes through the end of 2012 but after that, no more new shows will be made. The last batch of episodes will boast various guest hosts, including Michael Ian Black, Josh Myers, John Barrowman, Paul Scheer, Horatio Sanz, and Rob Huebel. As for the regular hosts (Candace Bailey, Blair Herter, Sara Underwood, and Morgan Webb), it seems they'll have to look around for new gigs, which probably won't be that difficult to nail down.
It's a little ironic because not long ago, I wondered just how popular these shows were on G4TV. Clearly, not popular enough.

makes me sick how G4 has just turned their backs on all us fans who have made the network such a success the past decade. i hope next year when they rebrand or whatever they're doing totally bombs.
peace.

Who's John Shepard?
Anyway, all of this is part of NBC Universal new strategy to rebrand G4 into a GQ-like network targeting the "modern male" and not nerds or geeks. They're going after big name advertisers and sponsors.
So it didn't really mattered how popular G4 was with its current base. They're targeting a different audience.

AOTS will be missed I have watched that show since it was Screen Savers been a truly long time fan. It has had its ups and downs but has always stayed very close to the same show it started as.
Here's hoping the new move fails bigtime and NBCUniversal loses a bundle, screw you guys, I'm going home.

MGS4.
Uncharted 2. (their game of the year 2009 btw)
LBP 1&2.
resistance 1.2. And 3.
god of war 3.
Killzone 2&3.
flower.
journey.
ico collection.
infamous.
all got perfect scores. plus they gave games like heavy rain. GT5 demon/dark souls. Uncharted 1&3. not perfect but still favorable reviews to.
probably just another hater who never even watched the show.

The key words in that sentence were"just about" if they didn't give favorable scores on occasion to some other systems/games then everybody would have noticed what I am talking about, also being that NBCUniversal is partnered with Microsoft it came as no suprise to anyone that they would favor Microsoft products over everthing else.

the uncharted 3 thing... yea that surprised me abit but they didn't really rip it apart he just said it wasn't as good as uncharted 2 which it wasn't.
And yeah i know theres alot of x play haters. this they hate PS3 thing has been well documented. i even remember adam joking about it when they asked him if uncharted 2 really was his favorite game he said yea because my check from Microsoft bounced! that's when i was 100% sure there was no truth to it. anyway i'll leave it at that. peace.
and for the record i know its irrelevant but those thumbs down weren't me. i don't do that i think they're lame.

That is why I get all my reviews from Ben now. If I am interested in a game, I wait for Ben to review it and read his review, no need for X-Play for me.
