Former GameStop VP Embezzled $2 Million, Pleads Guilty

Hey. Stealing is bad.

Earlier today, The Dallas Observer obtained a federal indictment that shows former GameStop vice president of corporate communications and public affairs, Frank Christopher Olivera, embezzled almost $2 million from the world's largest video game retailer.

Apparently, this occurred between July 2009 and April 2011; Olivera shifted the money from GameStop to Cloud Communications, which documents say existed only on paper. It seems Olivera just transferred the money to his own personal bank account, and he has plead guilty to the charge. He could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine...he probably won't care much about that $250k if he gets tossed in jail for a couple decades, but whatever.

These are the types of things that baffle me. Not making enough money as a VP in a major corporation? Really? And what in your tiny little brain makes you think you won't get caught? Seriously?

It's that typical corporate rich guy sense of entitlement. Although since it's Gamestop I have to say, couldn't have happened to a better company.

The company screws its customers, it in turn gets screwed by one of its chief execs. Garbage in, garbage out.

Guess he took Michael Douglas' words a little too close to heart.

At least he'll have plenty of time to watch Wall Street where he's going.

why did i read that first line in a mr mackey voice?
mkay?
aaaaaaaanyway, this just goes to show whats wrong with the industry!
GREED!
everything feels so rushed these days, so stretched to the point where its unfinished but still put out because publishers cant afford to spend another cent delaying it because they will go bankrupt.
god, i wish this industry would just crash and burn to the ground!
that way publishers will stop being so f*cking greedy, stop milking things to kingdom come, and start appreciating what they have!
