Former Square Boss Calls Enix Merger A "Complete Failure"
HA.
A whole lot of long-time (and painfully bitter) fans have been saying it for years, and now a former company boss just echoed those sentiments.
Square Enix posted up losses (again) and former Square Co. head honcho Hisashi Suzuki took to Twitter (as noted by Kotaku) to lash out at his previous employer. Suzuki said that the total value of publicly traded stock isn't any higher now than it was when Squaresoft joined Enix. In his words- "The merger was a complete failure. There's no vision for the future." If you're wondering, Suzuki was the president of Square between 2000 and 2002 before the company merged with Enix. Since that time, things haven't exactly been the same.
This sort of falls into the "so what else is new?" category for those who have watched Square's fall from grace. We all remember a time when anything Squaresoft touched turned to instant classic gold...and it's hard to forget.

I think they viewed the acquisition as some kind of instant goldmine, forgetting that hard work and their fans are where the money was at.

how about backing up your volatile filth with statements on where they went wrong, and why?
and what you would do to "fix" it.
one thing i hate about society today, they just fling sh*t at one another just for the sake of it.
what happened to the good old days where you showed respect to people?
i swear to god the whole world is turning into 16 year old spoiled sluts!

And even though I'm not defending "The Blank", I'm sure all you jack wagons that replied to his comment (except for you tes37...:-)) will think I am. And in that case, the yellow spam triangle is just below the post date and the thumbs down is just below my drivel. Good day.

If they would take their heads out of their arses and released fan favorites, they would see their $$$ rise a bit faster than releasing stuff people buy used, just to spite them. Instead they milk the greatest series's dry with a bunch of BS side stories. It makes me sad when i play something like FF9 and FF6 on my vita, and remember the hell i had while playing FF13/13-2. They need to redeem themselves fast because im sure people are at their wits end and when they finally release the favorites, people are gunna say 'Meh, 10 years to late.'

You really gotta wonder, what are they doing and why.
Any sane person would change their way if one way doesn't work, so far this gen FFXIII and FFXIII-2 are the only games that's bringing in the cash.
Not only do they not care about the mistakes and failures, they don't even bother to try harder.
Someone needs to bring Sakaguchi back and have him lead the team in the right direction ONCE MORE.
Even the great Kitase isn't doing what he did back in the old days.

It's nice to hear it from someone who was in charge though, as SE clearly won't listen to fans.
If plan A worked and plan B didn't then shouldn't you go back to plan A? I don't get how they don't see it. They think they need to go even more extreme in their pandering. At least with them losing money left and right maybe they will be forced to cash in on the FFVII remake.

The original Square Enix was formed as the result of a merger between Square and Enix The merger occured. 80% of Square Enix staff were made up of former Square Co. employees. president Yoichi Wada was appointed president oration, while former Enix president Keiji Honda became its vice president.
Square Enix's new motto around the office quickly became:
"Under no circumstances ever will we give our customers what they want especially when it comes to a FFVII reboot.
(oh and we'll only make a few Kingdom Hearts games too over a ten year period muhahaha)"
