its THE ONLY game this year that got every single thing right, in fact it was perfect!
and its the only game in the series that actually makes you feel like a true treasure hunter!
but if i had to stick to the list than id go with ME3.
as disappointing the story was, and as disappointing the characters and lack of side missions and scale, the gameplay was so vastly improved over 2, and the space battles, oh my god the space battles!
better than freaking star wars!
watching whole alien race ships going up in smoke was just beautiful!
best action adventure game should go to dishonoured.
it had its flaws, mainly the lack of choices if you want to go stealth, but if your happy to play sir rambo and blow everything to kingdom come its SO much fun!
had a decent story, and decent characters too.
best shooter no comparison there, has to be halo 4!
cant believe that was not nominated for GOTY, but whatever.
MP3 was good, but it just lacked that epic scale fun feel you expect.
it just felt too much like GTA, very serious and stern it does not have enough of a personality and humor.
and maxs melodramatic whining to everything gets really old and annoying after the first five minutes!
best studio, again no competition 343i.
not only did they step up to one of the biggest best developers in the industry, not only did they step up to the immense expectations of fans, not only did they step up to the immense expectations of themselves, they exceed EVERYTHING!
AND they proved the naysayers wrong, constantly complaining the 360 has not had a exclusive to really rally ps3 exclusives on a graphical front.
well 343 met that challenge, and knocked it out of the park!
looks just as good as any game out there, if not better, and my god the scale of everything!
this is not your typical corridor shooter! cough uncharted and killzone.......
everything was perfect, from the story, to the characters, to the combat, AI, graphics, EVERYTHING perfecto!
we FINALLY have the worthy successor to halo combat evolved!
id have to throw in another category too, the most disappointing title of the year.
and that would have to be AC3!
its the exact opposite to halo 4!
instead of getting everything right, ubisoft managed to somehow get everything wrong!
everything is worse compared to the previous games.
story sucks oh so bad, especially the abrupt lackluster endings.
no epic boss battles, just a small scuffle on the ground?
really?
wow, how anticlimactic!
to the simplified gameplay, to the local, to the bugs oh my lord the bugs!
sorry ubisoft, but this may not even be the most disappointing game of the year!
perhaps even more of a disappointment than GTAIV!
lord, never thought id be saying that!
oh, and as for most anticipated game for next year, as much as i hate to admit it, as much as im convinced its going to suck, i just cant help but get swept up in the hype.
come on, how cant you its freaking GTA!!!!!!!
i see the trailers, the new content, and i remember GTAIV.
than i forget, and all i can remember is all the wonderful memories the series has left with me, albeit last gen.
sigh, please R* can i just have ONE series how it will be?
please!?
hey, ill make you a deal.
make GTAV the old school let your hair down, have fun, use a tank on the streets as a vigilante mission, and ill stop complaining about franchises changing so much.
deal?
just one, i just want one!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I wonder about how "influenced" these choices are.
Anyway, using goty nominees and best studio nominees my guess for their goty is Dishonored. It would seem to me the only way a studio would be best if they produced something best, right?

Journey
Darksiders 2
Max Payne 3
Telltale Games
The Last of Us
Nominations that will most likely win the categories tho:
Assassins Creed 3/Mass Effect 3 (sequels, not new IPs, so they will obviously try to push them as much as possible cause they selling like crazy already)
Action/advnture can actually go either direction, they prob gonna go for Assasins Creed3 or Darksiders 2 tho.
Best shooter, they obviously picking Blops2.
They prob gonna give best studio to 343.
And I can totally see them picking GTA V for most anticipated.
Spike VGA is mostly about the masses, so I dont usually pay attention to them, unless they happen to be unveiling a new Uncharted (which wont be happening this year, but we will get a bit more of Last of Us hopefully)
