Hitman: Absolution Launch Trailer: Agent 47 Is Out For Blood
Next week, Agent 47 returns.
The esteemed Hitman series has made quite the name for itself in this industry, and that's why we hope the new installment lives up to the franchise's reputation.
Despite hearing some disappointing things about the anticipated title, we're still hoping for a stellar assassin experience. Perhaps the biggest issue might revolve around the stealth element: Did the developers snuff it out by focusing too much on hectic third-person action, or do we at least have the option? Personally, I'd want an adventure like Dishonored, which encouraged stealth over a rash approach but still gave you a variety of choices. I don't have a problem with choice.
Well, not sure if I'll get that but anyway, here's the launch trailer.

As for the PC review for this it was complete lies. About a dozen or more people have called it into question and pointed out his inconsistencies with what they have played and seen so I'm not worried. Read the other reviews playstation magazine gave it a great score.
What seems to be happening here is they are giving people a choice to play through the game stealth or guns blazing. You get rewarded more for doing it stealth though from what I have seen.
The stealth genre isn't really dead so much as absent from the mainstream. There are some good indy PC stealth games if you look. Although I just want another good Tenchu game at this point.

hell, even the demonstration at the EB expo last month they were just running through it like it was another COD game.
than on show floor they had a level on show where you could not use any disguises or anything, you had to use the crowd to hide yourself from the cops and kill your target.
not to mention all the trailers they have released.
just seems every chance they get there making it look like just another mindless shooter.
if it really is a true hitman game then why wouldent you want to emphasize and prove that?
thats exactly the point though, if you have to look to indie games for a genre which use to be a industry standard than it might as well be dead!
exactly the same as horror, you have to go to indie titles like slender man or the SCP series to get your horror fix.
nice to see some on the horizon, closure looks freaking awesome!
but its a fractured sentiment of what it use to be.
as for tenchu yea that would be sweet.
there was actually a tenchu game on the wii, was not as good as the ps1 ones but it was decent enough.
hoping we will see another on the wiiu or maybe remakes.

I think the only way the stealth genre will make a come back is if they do it like dishonored where you have options. Even if you didn't like it it gave you the choice of killing or stealthing and that is the way its going to have to be sadly. Or all the ADD impatient CoD kids get a does of natural selection and die off and everyone left just demands stealth games :P
Back to hitman, I have seen some good stealth videos of it, and if you put it into the hardcore mode I think that is going to be the mode vets of the series play. I have some faith it wont be terrible but there is a trend this generation to bastardize games to be more like the CoD winning formula which is a shame.

first the stupid nuns trailer, than the PC gamer review and now this.
just seems like eidos are hell bent on advertising the game as just another typical mindless shooter!
sigh.
the industry really needs this, its been so long since blood money came out, and thanks to that the genre has really slipped!
if theres one franchise that can bring the stealth genre back its agent 47!
so please eidos, please dont fuck this up!
this flops and we can kiss our stealth games goodbye!
sigh.
wheres that video game crash when you need it!?
